Christopher Hitchens left an empty space that will be difficult to fill. With his death yesterday, comes a void of analytical fearlessness that few will even endeavor to emulate. Sadly, Hitchens was a rare bright light in this new Dark Age of groupthink. Until another mind of his calibre arrives to fill that void, the masses will have to muddle about intellectually, without benefit of challenges to established ideas and beliefs.
While we did not subscribe to 100% of his ideas and writings, we respected his phenomenal ability to deconstruct complex concepts and reconstruct them in ways that inspired many to"think" for the first time in their lives.
