Issues Under Fire: Tit for Tat Terror Attacks

Now that we've reached the tit for tat terror attack stage, it shouldn't be long before somebody gets caught red handed. This of course will trigger the next phase of pre-war warnings, redline positioning and public threats of "the military option". You know, the one option that is always on the table. In fact, based on patterns of past behaviors, the military option is actually the center piece on the table.

Nevertheless, we'll not delve to deeply into the weeds as to who started the madness, for the winner always has an option on the last rewrite. Besides, we think it more helpful to understand this latest conflict by expanding the view through the lens of history.

The United States could now be described as a serial instigator. A cursory examination of recent UN Security Council considerations dealing with sanctions or use of force against another nation state, will reveal the US' fingerprints all over them.

Susan Rice, US Ambassador to the UN seems like the ultimate pest as of late, running around like "Chicken Little" claiming the world had better "act to jack before everything goes whack". Rarely can any of the accusations being "slandered about" be independently substantiated, but here they come again and again and again with the calls for more resolutions, leading to more sanctions, leading to more coalitions to do something "crippling" to somebody, because that somebody wont do what the US wants them to do.

One would think, when the 3AM calls from the US to leaders of other counties, they'd be apprehensive about answering. God damn it, what the hell do they want from us now must be the response.

Still, they have to take the call just to hedge their bets until the next power player emerges as the clear undisputed respected leader on the world stage. Smaller countries pretty much just go along for the aid, military funding, bribes or just to avoid threats of future destabilization.

We tried to imagine how the Chinese counterpart of Susan Rice must feel being cornered during Security Council votes to keep squeezing the Iranians. With Rice wagging her finger in the face of other diplomates demanding they step up to the plate and meet their international responsibilities or face isolation, she's has to be exhibiting all the charm of one's ex-wife from hell.

Unfortunately, as far as that international isolation stuff is concerned, reality would indicate it is the US and Israel who seems to be the ultimate outsiders. After a careful review of US relations with folks like Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iran, Egypt, Yemen, Libya, Turkey, Iraq, Russia, China, ,Mexico, the Palestinians, Syria, Cuba and Venezuela, America looks like the leper at the party. Hell even the French are tired of the sissy jokes from the US.

Any existing partnerships the US maintains around the globe these days are purely project/issue/business interest specific. Its difficult to see how many would still consider the US' word or friendship to be something to place much value in.

We'd bet a boat load of Ginseng tea Xi Jinping is thinking; damn we loan these losers a ton of dough at almost zero interest and they want us to pass on the biggest oil deal we're gonna get for decades. Yo! go peddle that yang to the Indians, why don't cha! Tit for Tat Terror Attacks
