As we continue our coverage of the Sequestration debacle, we'd be remiss in our duties to proceed without discussing how the so called mainstream media's was remiss in theirs. Yes, there is so much blame to go around, its time to review the role America's news media is playing.
Beginning with failing to unravel the ass-backward language used to perpetrate the Debt Ceiling Crisis quickly enough, America's so called mainstream media actually helped keep an intellectually taxed populace in the dark. If the fourth estate was functioning as a professional independent entity on behalf of " We the People's" right to know, the bastard child of said Debt Ceiling crisis (Sequestration) would have never been born from it.
Allowing prominent congressional dunderheads to routinely misrepresent the basic concept of what raising the debt ceiling meant, literally paved the way for just enough confusion to create a panic, damage the nation's credit rating and have the usual political incompetents scrambling for any face-saving ass-covering scheme they could dream up.
Given its literal read, raising the nation's debt limit sounds like the country is simply borrowing more money to spend more money. For those too busy or overworked, a politician skilled in the art of deception and deflection would have no trouble manipulating the term to make it seem like the country is on a perennial spending spree.
It took months for any clarity was established to explain that the ceiling had to be raised to pay debts already incurred. Unfortunately, to this day that very scam is still being ran unchallenged by creeps on the extreme right of the truth.
Be it brown nosing for access or blatant incompetence, the mainstream media can not and will not be held blameless in this sequestration madness. We were most concerned when domestic media outlets bitched and moaned because President Obama denied them a photo opportunity of himself and Tiger Woods, yet those inquiring minds went virtually dormant when the administration refused to submit its legal justification for taking the life of "any" human being without due process.
If this is the best of America's press, then there is plenty of room for alternatives.
