With the United States fending off threats, acts of terror and relentless cyber attacks on a daily basis, its clear to see this country has an inordinate amount of enemies. For a nation whom proclaims to do nothing but good in the world for the benefit of the world, its just don't make sense that this peace loving, democratic, humane society of unparalleled values and Exceptionalism could inspire and direct so much hate toward itself.
When queried, many around the world will gladly tell you, "We Love Americans". Unfortunately, they don't feel the same about the United States. And, therein may be a clue as to how "We the People", could be so cool, when the "United States" sucks so badly in the eyes the international community.
Firstly, "We the People" must accept the fact that as "Americans", we just we live on this big space called the North American continent. Labeled the United States of America, the governing entity that controls the borders of that big space, claims "We the People" as its citizens. The United States government tax us and provide basic services and defense for said citizens. And that's just about it.
When it comes to representation, we can make a strong prima facie case against the United States government representing "We the America People". If the United States government represented, respected and worked on behalf of the American people, we would have had stricter gun laws and universal background checks after the elementary school massacre in Connecticut.
Finding too many examples of the people's will being ignored for the profit of special interest to list for this post, it'll suffice to say, the United States government has a power, will and agenda far beyond anything "We the People" have been made fully aware of.
Who and what are "We the People":
We, the American people work will hard when a job is available, play hard if we can get the time off and for the most part, will do the right thing when things get tough. We like movies, ball games, beer and big boobs. We like reality shows and shoe shopping at the mall when we can afford it. We like surfing the internet as much as surfing Laguna. We like cool cars and fast bikes. We like the beach, we like to ski, we like to party. We like to drink and eat. We like to travel to far off places. Americans like most people in the world, like a lot of the same things. But most importantly, Americans like to be liked. Well, at least that's what most of the Americans are like that we know. And who wouldn't like people like that?
On the other hand, Americans don't like war, they don't like being lied to, they don't like being told what to do, they don't like being spied on and patted down. Americans don't like being stopped and frisked without cause, they don't like working long hours for low wages, without benefits. Americans don't like the cost of healthcare and higher education in America. Americans don't like big corporation and the elites that run them squeezing the very life out of what was once the American dream.
No American we know, ever dreamed that America would ever look like the United States as we know it today. Understanding the difference between "We the People" and the United States government may be the best way to understand the wide diversity of the U.S. government's enemies.
Part Two tomorrow: Who or What is the United States government anyway!
