Connecting the dots between the Boston bombing, NYC, Syria's Bashar al Assad, sarin gas, the Israelis and the never ending war on terror was easier than we thought. And in today's podcast we do just that. Unfortunately while we like to live like Americans, we like to work like the French. Thus, we've abbreviated the copy severely for this post, so as to have more time to to chill on a park bench at the beach.
The latest official reports says Boston's Bombing suspect indicated he and his partner in "terror" had plans to bust a cap or two here in NYC's Time Square. (Note to the wise, chill on the crowded spaces if possible for awhile.) That being said, we were not in the room during the interrogation, so we'll have to trust "the official sources" that they were able to ascertain reported details through a series of head nods, eye blinks, finger taps and toe pointing. With a really bad sore throat, how else could all that intel be communicated.
Still, once the words "New York" and "terrorist plot" are linked together in the same sentence, all kinds of actions are triggered. More funding for the city's protection, more toys and tools for law enforcement to play with and most importantly, fewer rights and freedoms afforded "We the People". Any utterance that could even be remotely interpreted as a threat to NYC and those that could benefit from federal funding will be lining up with their hands out. Hey, we're just sayin' because too few others are.
Oh yeah!, Bashar al-Assad has been fingered by the Israelis for using small amounts of Sarin gas. Here we go again with those trigger words. (WMD) If the Israelis can con the U.S and the Western allies into intervening in the Syrian civil war, they'll have half their problems solved. Still, we're gonna wait for independent, international verification of any claims of this nature because we've read this script before and it don't read any better this time around. We think the Russians and the Chinese may be on to something by putting the kibosh on Western eagerness to get all up in somebody else's business.
Besides, al--Assad's got a whole new angle he's playing. Latest reports from his camp says he too is waging war against Al Qaeda types or Al Qaeda types are waging war against him. He says, it's the West that don't have a clue. This might be a tough story to sell to the hawks in Congress, but it could gain some traction beyond U.S borders. Hell, anybody and everybody has been crawling all over Syria since the beginning of the revolt, so whose to say whose killing who these days.
