Above, is unverified video claiming evidence of chemical weapons being used against the Syrian opposition. Lacking translation, positive identification of the reported victims, their affiliations or the ability to substantiate their ailments and symptoms related thereto, so far, we have little proof to legitimize any further intervention than what's already been approved and provided.
"High Level" officials are making statements, some guarded, some not so with regard to amounts of Sarin Gas used and that investigations are ongoing. Looks like the groundwork for action is being laid. The talking heads are agreeing that something must be done. When the talking heads begin to agree on something big it's almost always something to safeguard support and or benefit their BFF in the Middle East.
To date, the accepted line is, "small amounts of Sarin Gas has been used". Oddly, the term" used chemical weapons against his own people has been avoided. Perhaps, its a forced acknowledgement that Syria has been overrun by some creeps that might deserve a taste of Sarin Gas. Still, we're concerned, because these so-called reports seem more like rumors and conjecture than facts.
With Sen. John McCain saying the United States really don't need proof to go ahead and establish a No-Fly Zone, things could get out of hand in the blink of an eye. According to McCain, the United States is already too late to the party. Whether these conversations are a murky pretext for the next level of intervention or just a trial balloon to determine America's appetite for another engagement, only time will tell.

This embed copied from the New York Times blogging section and now making its round on the Internet is the best so-called evidence publicly release to date. As weak as it is, ABC News spliced this video into one of their 90 sec. packages as well. In our view, this just won't cut it. We need more. We need a lot more.
Actually, we were looking for mass graves of bloated carcasses, foaming at the mouth with notes strewn about saying it was all Bashar al-Assad's doing. It would also be helpful to have video of Assad and pals dressed in lab coats laughing maniacally while mixing up a batch of the unholy brews and toxins. That's we call evidence. That's what we call proof. That's what we call actionable intelligence. So far, all we've got is the most convoluted conflict in recent history.
Before the West, at the incitement and insistence of Israel, jumps into another fight to "free the oppressed" and "rescue the innocent", while protecting the United States' BFF and only true Democracy in the region, Americans need to figure out who really wants freedom and who really needs to be rescued.
Breaching another nation's sovereignty to intervene in a multifaceted religiously driven civil conflict where foreign combatants from all points of the globe with too many motives agendas or intentions to fathom would be the stupidest foreign policy blunder the United States could consider at this time or anytime in the near future. The bloody truth is, Syria may have to stop the bleeding on its own.
