The White House is now defying logic to engage Syria, as well as Russia and Iran by proxy. Undoubtedly aware this formidable crew is backed by Iraq and China in the background, with Hezbollah and untold numbers of freelancers and opportunist, the United States is going to arm "the unknowns" before any significant effort has been made to get opposing parties to the negotiating table.
Reporting they now have undeniable/indisputable proof that Bashar al-Assad's regime has used chemical weapons, the United States says "the red line" has been crossed. While the evidence of said proof has yet to be throughly examined, we suppose the nation will just have to trust the administration on this.
In the mean time, "We the People" have no idea what this decision is going to cost, how regional adversaries will respond or how much additional aid and support the Russians will counter with. We don't even know how the U.S. intend on dealing with the UN over this action.
Possibly jumping into the abyss of mission creep, the Obama administration is moving forward, backed only by Middle East pariah; Israel and two economically depressed European allies; Britain and France. Despite the inevitable chatter about others offering assistance, it'll be the U.S. doing the heavy lifting. Without explaining what's in it for "We the People", we've been rendered speechless.
Hence, our prepared podcast has been preempted due to these unexpected turn of events. At the moment, we can only offer speculation as to the president's motives behind this lunacy. Perhaps opting for this action is to divert attention from mounting pressures over the domestic spying scandal. One may never know, we can only blindly trust in the GOVERNMENT.
We'll continue probing for a rational explanation, but it might take a day or two. Stay tuned.
