Issues Under Fire: Obama's G-8 Summit w/ Berlin Stopover Was No Vacation

Barack Obama
President Obama returns from G-8 and Germany bruised and battered, only to take more of a beating over new domestic surveillance revelations. FBI Director Robert Muller admitted to the policy free use of drones by Feds and local law. Coming on the heels of an avalanche of leaks from Edward Snowden, former CIA/NSA/ IT Intelligence contractor and brilliantly reported on by Glenn Greenwald of the UK Guardian, we'll bet UK pounds to dollars, the President wishes he'd just bypassed Washington and went directly to his African vacation.
Having to defend spying on the entire world while making an unconvincing case for arming the Syrian opposition, the President was left in an untenable position. President Putin of Russia used the opportunity to take advantage of Obama's weakened stature and pressed for and got what he came to accomplished; a guarantee  that Bashar al-Assad has a seat at the upcoming Geneva peace talks.
Things only got worse in Berlin. Comparatively, the President drew little more than a hand full of onlookers to his big Brandenburg Gate speech this go around. Speaking through a six foot high (or more) barrier of bulletproof glass to gathering of less than 5000 invited guest, it was a far cry from the 200,000 thousand plus crowds of hopeful and enthusiastic well wishers in 2008.
This disturbs us. This should disturb you. This should disturb the President. This should not be ignored. Ether this is a sign that President Obama's image has lost it's luster or, the world can now see through it.
