As the world witnesses the United States savage itself with a scorched earth mentality, its gaining valuable insight into why many efforts to negotiate with America either leads nowhere or to military conflict. Having no appreciation or understanding for the art compromise, any discussion of any issue will ultimately end in failure if the United States faces an adversary wiling to stand its ground.
Watching the sheer spectacle of the United States government expose its ignorance, incompetencies and myopic view of issues beyond its borders, should be a glaring warning to those not yet actively seeking options to partner with others for insurance. Now that its becoming clear the United States has devolved into an entity worthy of suspicion, it makes perfect sense to carefully examine every international negotiation the United States is currently engaged in.
After decades of failure in the Middle East, the United States now find itself talking with Iran again. Having called for and obtained crippling economic sanctions against Iran for its refusal to capitulate to every demand made, the United States is of the view said sanctions is the primary reason Iran has offered to engage. This is a major misread of the Iranian position. One need only conduct a cursory review of Iranian President Rouhani and Foreign Minister Zarif's statements, as well as the well documented history between Iran the U.S. to appreciate where they're coming from.

With virtually no proof the Iranians have developed the means for, or the intent to build a nuclear weapon, the United States has vowed to crush that country just to make sure they don't. Under the threat of sabotage, air strikes or all an out war, the United States enters the Geneva nuclear negotiations with Iran as they've always have; waving sticks and promising carrots.
Failing to comprehend the world is now more willing than ever to seek other avenues in solving its most pressing concerns, the United States will undoubtedly proceed as per usual, only to realize the usual results; talks that lead nowhere or talks that lead to military conflict.
By its own admission, Americans lament daily how unrealistic, unreasonable and irrational its lawmakers approach the negotiation process. If that's how Americans feel, imagine what the international community is thinking.

So far, support for United States sponsored sanctions against Iran have held together reasonably well, but that could change significantly if the United States is foolish enough to default on its financial obligations. Many will legitimately surmise, any nation that would do what the United States is doing to itself should not be trusted and for damn sure, is no model to follow.
