obama_sebelius Sabotaging Obama Care
Whether its a lack of competence or a lack of loyalty, its time to examine the team responsible for the disastrously flawed rollout of President Obama's legacy achievement; The Affordable Healthcare Act. Fully aware of the stakes involved, its difficult to fathom how the President could have been so misled and or kept in the dark as to the trouble the website responsible for enrolling as having.

Whomever the President selected to be the point person for his legacy achievement had to know the how critical it was to get this right. With the GOP chomping at the bit to scandalize and scuttle the entire concept at the drop of an hat, the success of the rollout should have been priority one. The President should have been made aware of the shortcomings, potential problems and obstacles more than a year ago.

While the buck always stops with the President, no rational mind cognizant of the full responsibilities of the Oval Office expects Barack Obama to micro manage the implementation of each and every piece of legislation Congress passes. The President has to rely on a team of advisors to keep him abreast of progress or the lack thereof. If he can't depend on subordinates to meet targets and adhere to timelines to accomplish assigned tasks, said subordinates must be replaced posthaste.

With the daily fallout over the NSA's global scandals, a complete breakdown of foreign relations throughout the Middle east, the challenges of getting the Syrians to the negotiating table, the challenges keeping the Iranians at the negotiating table, the challenges of dealing with the Pakistanis over drones and the challenges of dealing with Human Rights Watch/Amnesty International over potential war crimes because of the United States' drone program, is more than enough to make your head swim.
Add in the fact that President Obama has the ongoing burden of babysitting the Israelis throughout this madness and still, you've just glimpsed the tip of the iceberg of issues this administration has to contend with.

While it will difficult to impossible to prove administration insiders deliberately sabotaged the President over Obama-Care, it is possible to review their performance to determine if those the president trusted actually did all they could and should have done.

The fact that the Secretary of Health and Human Services is not a household name this late in the game is indicative of a level of inadequacy  that can not be overlooked or tolerated. The fact that Kathleen Sebelius was not out front and center, daily espousing the features and benefits of the Affordable Care Act, allowed the GOP virtually a freehand to demonize the program unabated and unanswered. The fact that so many Americans are still woefully ignorant of how the program is supposed to work is worse than unacceptable, this is a firing offense.

Bottom line:
Being fully aware of the exceedingly fanatical opposition to Obama-Care, Kathleen Sebelius failed the President miserably in her mishandling of the most important domestic task this century. Doing the right thing, would be to start planning to spend more time with her family. The Podcast:
