Issues Under Fire: Can Western Powers Speak With One Voice

IRAN_IAEA

As this second round of Iran vs Israel talks kickoff in Geneva today, the most pertinent question to be answered is whether the West has it's Sh*t together. After the first Iranian engagement collapsed into finger pointing over who ran away from the deal, its essential the West collaborate and concur on their positions.
Failing to approach negotiations as a cohesive unit will only waste time and make Western diplomates and negotiators appear disorganized unprepared and amateurish. The first meeting of the minds was a disaster in the making long before the primary participants took their places at the "table".
With the U.S. being publicly berated and undermined by Israel, as the French manages tis new special relationship with Saudi Arabia, the only thing Iran could do, was to wait until the West found agreement amongst themselves.
After U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry insisted it was the Iranians who could not accept the West's offer, it was critical to ascertain the truthfulness of his assessment. Unfortunately, Secretary Kerry's remarks did not turn out to be even remotely true.
Since the mainstream media has elected to cover the obvious angles, someone has to take the challenge of scoring the negotiations round by round. To properly monitor this historic opportunity to reach a breakthrough in hostilities, its vitally important to score events as they unfold. There os no better way to determine with some degree of objectivity who is performing ethically, reasonably and in good faith.
By this writers measure, it appears Iran has the clear early edge in the public's view of whose dealing openly and honestly. On the issue of who was responsible for scuttling the first round of talks, it was the French who arrived late to the party with new and excessive demands to be met.
When the Western powers show up to talk, it remains unclear if any one of the present powers is acting as the leader. Conversely, the Iranians have only themselves to coordinate with. When Iran arrives in Geneva, there is but one script they're reading from. On this point Iran is awarded a score of 10.
When the IAEA published its report of Iranian enrichment activities since Hassan Rouhani' election, it confirmed all observed nuclear expansion activities had been reduced nearly to nil. Considering the West, lead by the Israelis has been accusing Iran of spinning centrifuges non-stop in the quest for an immediate plutonium breakout celebration, we award Iran another score of 10.
Thus far, bumbling Western powers are clearly sending mixed messages and even those are out of sync. To date, this writer's informal and admittedly unscientific scoring of events, has the Iranians winning the international community's public relations war 20-0.
Bottom line: If the Western powers want any chance of avoiding the label of warmongering assholes, its imperative they get their Shit Together posthaste.
