The True Cost of Sanctions
Before closing for holiday, there was one nagging issue that begged to be addressed. Turning the page on this exciting chapter of the Iranian-Israeli conflict without debunking the myth of sanctions being the primary reason for this historic dialog would be the epitome of negligence. Besides, what better way to cap this gusher of a story than to establish a flashpoint for the next round of talks. In doing so, we'll close our tale with the mother of all bottom lines.
The Bottom line:
Its important to understand, the line of B.S. talking points being sold and marketed by Western coconspirators is a desperate attempt to cover themselves against charges of unjustified aggression. The Idea that it was international sanctions that brought the Iranians to their knees begging for relief flawed, but it defies all logic and common sense.
Still, politicians, so-called political analyst and media stooges continue propagating this bilge ad nauseam. This pure propaganda is being perpetuated by the West to justify the economic stress the world was forced to endure for little to no effect. In the final analysis, the so-called crippling sanctions actually hurt the world economy more than it negatively impacted the Supreme Leader and his crew.
Sure, one can make the argument that the people of Iran suffered like hell, but the people of Iran was not supposed to be the target. When the economy collapsed and the Iranian currancy tanked, Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei felt no pain or discomfort. When Iran's oil exports were squeezed to a trickle, those at the top of Iran's pecking order still filled their tanks with petrol. When food shortages and unemployment begin to bite, those in charge of making policy probably never even noticed of cared much if they did.
In order to satisfy the narrow special interest of a very select few, the entire world was forced to make needless sacrifices. With this deal already showing dividends through lower oil prices at the onset of a what could be a brutal winter, it's critical to understand how these crippling sanctions have hamstrung everyone, but those they were intended to. From the Mid-West to the Northeast, those who fill 1000 gallon fuel tanks for the winter will be happy about this deal.
If one stopped long enough to consider the missed business opportunities, the artificially heightened energy prices and general economic malaise this misguided policy of leveling crippling sanctions has caused globally, you'd be justified in looking to kick somebody's ass.
At a time when every economic engine available should be functioning at capacity to alleviate as many impediments to a global recovery as possible, we have special interest keeping an artificial crisis alive against a major energy producing nation.

Maintaing the myth of sanctions bringing Iran to the table is merely red meat rhetoric designed for domestic consumption. It is international pep talk, designed to hold disgruntled nations in line a little longer. How else would the United States Congress explain to those who had to be brought along kicking and screaming (and there were many) that the sacrifice was worth the results.
Unfortunately, the real reason this myth is being marketed to the world at large, is to justify the tragically needless and likely illegal collective punishment the Iranian people are being forced to endure.
With that in mind, the next time some worthless "high lever official" start mouthing off about slapping Iran or anybody else with crippling sanctions, you should be asking how much is this gonna cost you.
