America in the New Dark Age Part 3
The American Grunt as previously defined, is a low-ranking, relatively unskilled soldier or American other worker of any kind. In this new Dark Age, there is little hope for any significant upward mobility. The American Grunts works hard long hours and face long brutal commutes only to bring home work to finish while their kid's basic needs go neglected. The American Grunt no longer dreams of better, because after decades of lowered expectations, they're just glad to have a job no matter how badly it sucks.
The America Grunt, over the years have come to accept the fact that the American work experience has flattened out. There is only two classifications now: The Global CEO and The American Grunt. This transition occurred around the same time the new socioeconomic classifications was reduced down to only two classifications: The Rich and The Rest. How could all of this happen without much notice? Don't worry, we'll cover that later on in this series.
Still, no matter how lowly the life of an American Grunt appears to be, there is a sub-classification one level down: The American loser. And, no matter what happens or how bad things get, you don't want to be tagged, an American Loser.
The American Loser
This is the life of the American Grunt who can't toe the line or won't. Sometimes, its just a case of "Shit Happens".
Say you're just the average American Grunt working your low wage, long hours, no overtime job when you get into a row with a co-grunt. As things will happen, when stressed out, short tempered, got nothing to lose blue-collar types allow a push to lead to a shove, fists clash with jaws is a given.
Of course, a few beers after a tension easing workplace punch-out is called for, so you throw down a six pack or two in the parking lot of "Louie's" and head home in your hooptie still in a bad frame of mind. Two, maybe three block from the liquor store, the friggin' lights from a cop's cruiser glares at you in your rearview mirror. Mother Fucker!
Since pulling over is the only option in a police state, you do so without hesitation. Unfortunately, as a result you do so without realizing the empties are still scattered about the floor of the car. SHIT!
When the officer (aka hero) steps up to the car window, the first thing he notices is the rolled joint tucked casually in your left ear. God Damn It! BTW, in a police state, all law enforcement entities are considered heroes and the wise American Grunt can never forgets this.
At this point, you don't even hear " License and Registration Please". You only remember "Get your ass otta da car and put your hands behind your back". If anything like this happens to you in America's New Dark Age and you're an American Grunt, (and who ain't these days?) its a sure bet it won't be long before you're an American Loser.
When American Grunts find themselves in trouble with the law, no matter how small the infraction, the cost is generally financially devastating. With only court appointed counsel, your guilt is certain and your sentence is mandatory. This is called pauper's or Loser's justice. You get a short trial and lengthy sentence. The last words you'll hear as you're led away in chains is: Next Loser Please!
Filling courts, local lock ups, state and federal prisons and juvenile facilities, while cutting funding for mental health, drug treatment, rehabilitation and job training, The American Grunt, now an American loser, will have no voice to speak in his favor for the rest of his natural life.
Cast forever into the shadows of black markets and off the books temporary work from "employers" who don't ask questions if you don't ask questions, The America Loser is now less than nothing. This is the forgotten demographic.
From here on out, The American loser's future lot in life will be determined by how quickly he can gain skills at hustling, fraud, handyman work, recycling cans and bottles, scalping tickets, strong-arm protection work, club bouncer, drug sales, pimping/whoring, fencing stolen property etc. All of these activities, BTW will eventually lead you right back to being arrested, convicted sentenced and in prison again. But, as they say, once a loser, always a loser.
