Issues Under Fire: Syria; A Conflict Even God Ignores

War is Hell

Following a week of premature peace talks all predicted would yield anything but peace, the blood flows liberally again in Syria. From Homs to Aleppo, civilians and hard liners alike are hunkered down to await the next round of slaughter.
Without having any idea who constitutes the enemy anymore, the Syrian killing fields has even turned the stomachs of Al Qaeda Central. Sending out what could be described as a terrorist advisory, Ayman al-Zawahiri "placed  the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, on notice, that  it was not informed of its creation [and] did not accept it".
While  going on to criticize the ISIL's mode of operations, al-Zawahiri, curtly added, ISIL "is not a branch of al-Qaeda, has no links to it, and the [al-Qaeda] group is not responsible for its acts". "We affirm our disavowal from the sedition that is occurring in Syria between factions of jihadist, and from the blood that was shed by any party," the terse statement said.
Couple this revelation with rumors about John Kerry hinting the Obama administration's Syria policies are failing, and one can clearly see how hopelessly out of control this crisis has become.
Syria is where Hell Boiled Over
Syria's bloody conflict has descended into a caldron of hate, revenge and the most evil of intentions. Anyone left in this zone of death and destruction can now be considered lost and damned souls. As Syrian refugees languish in relative comfort compared to those who failed to get the memo that hell was boiling over, the war is now being fought on so many fronts, there are no exits or exit strategies.
Trapped and now cutoff from any escape routes, the young, the innocent, the wounded and starving are on their own. Left with only a dying will to survive, hard cases and human shields simply exist as cannon fodder and pawns for propaganda.
Unfortunately, Syria is where Hell has been allowed to boil over. Its become a space on a earth, where pure unadulterated hate incubates, infects and creates future generations of rabid, bloodthirsty extremist seeking some sick form of justice.
As things stand, Russia is reporting Bashar al-Assad will send another delegation back to Geneva for more talks. But, if pragmatism is trounced by principles again, the hellfire burning unabated in Syria will only get hotter.
