Elite Ukraine Military Units Disarmed by Pro Russian Women and Children
Looking more like Europe's village idiots than a governing authority, those calling the shots in Kiev are shooting blanks. Restoring order and rule of law is proving to be beyond the competencies of those who rose to power with baseball bats and street fights. Just because one can successfully stage a coup does not qualify one to govern a nation.
Lacking even a modicum of respect, everyone from local policing authorities to elite military units are laughing in the face of Kiev's so-called central government and aligning themselves with whomever they feel will provide the best future for Ukraine. So far, the chicken-shits in Kiev don't have enough clout or influence with the average Ukrainian to establish a conversation, let alone serious negotiations.
Don't shoot we're on your side!
After giving its armed forces the simple task of reestablishing control over a few small outbreaks of dissent, the Ukraine units promptly defected and placed their weapons in the hands of those they were sent to disarm. Claiming to be tired sleepy and hungry, some Ukraine military units simply decided Kiev had nothing to offer that would make them open fire on neighbors, friends, relatives or any fellow Ukrainians.
If the United States turns out to be stupid enough to arm Kiev's Kooks, the Obama administration could be delivering those arms directly or indirectly into Pro-Russian hands. Once again, failing to identify precisely who the players are, their strengths and weaknesses as well as how much support those players have amongst their own, the United States is preparing to wager reputation and blood and treasure on what amounts to a rag tag crew of unruly renegades.
One would think after supporting Maliki in Iraq, Karzai in Afghanistan, the Rebels in Syria and their BFFs in Israel, the United States could spot a loser by now. Unfortunately, decades of experience hasn't taught the Unites States government a damn thing, as the Obama administration continues to double down in Eastern Europe. While the European Union remain cautiously quiet (save for the Brits) the United States has clearly taken the lead in confronting Moscow, even though no one in the obama administration can say what they are really confronting Moscow over.
Clueless as to the realities on the ground, grandstanding congressional hacks from both sides of the aisle have jumped into the deep end of Ukrainian's "intramural conflict" with both feet and completely blind. If Europe is wary of ratcheting up the rhetoric, why pray tell, should the United States go out on the proverbial limb.
Bottom line: Since the United States found itself backing another bunch of losers, it would make sense (at the very least), slow the flow of funding. To bankroll a corrupt click of kooks even the people of Ukraine see as a joke, would only make the American taxpayer just as laughable.
