Issues Under Fire: Chaos in Middle East, An Arms Dealers Wet Dream

Chaos in Middle East creates bonanza for those who deal in death and destruction

Generally there's very little going on around here on Fridays but every once in a great while an angle presents itself that can't be ignored. Iraq, descending into chaos has captured the world's imagination for a myriad of reasons, but few have focused on the potential for profit. With a reported 425 $million in pocket from robbing and pillaging, the ISIS can afford to purchase nothing but the best, to outfit and equip its crew of motivated fighters.

If you don't smell opportunity in the plumes of smoke you're, not thinking like a wartime profiteer with an insatiable entrepreneurial spirit. Since the ISIS will be paying in cash, lets face it, somebody is going to fill those orders.

Whatever the ISIS needs, the ISIS will get from those tapping into a worldwide weapons pipeline jammed with military overstock. In fact, considering the ISIS is showing promising growth potential, the smart arms dealers will want to make contact as soon as possible to market their deadliest wares early.

Straddling the border of Syria and Iraq, with designs on conquering more, the ISIS not only promises to be a long term customer, but they'll generate business from all of the "other sides" fighting as the conflict spreads. Considering President Obama has already green lighted lethal weapons support for the Syrian rebels, the potential for violence in the region will only escalate. Hence, the need for even more weapons will only escalate.

Bottom line: The raging chaos in the Middle East has presented weapons sales opportunities not seen since the beginning of WW2. With more fighters joining the ranks of more splinter groups daily, this latest explosion of violence is an arms dealers wet dream.

As per usual, no Podcast today, but as usual, just below is a really cool episode of Raymond Chandler's Philip Marlowe entitled "The King in Yellow". Enjoy and share
