Issues Under Fire: Will Israel Undermine Western-Iran Cooperation in Iraq
When a second round of nuke talks kicked off this week in Vienna between Iran and the P5+1, some saw that as promising. When Tehran announced Iran would be willing to coordinate with the United States to confront ISIS in Iraq, some saw that as opportunity.
When Secretary of State John Kerry signaled the US would be open to anything constructive Iran could offer, some saw the possibilities. When UK Foreign Secretary William Hague announced plans for the United Kingdom to reopen its embassy in Tehran this week, some saw that as progress.
Case for Undermining Western-Iran Cooperation in Iraq:
However, when untangling the mangled interest off all major players involved in the Middle East, it became apparent, some don't see warming relations between the West and Iran as a hot idea. Some see the United States finding common ground with Iran as a threat to its national security.
Some see maintaining a hardline and unyielding pressure, as the only way to relate and or negotiate with Iran. Some see any gesture of cooperation, let alone collaboration as a sign of weakness. Some see the mere act of talking to Iran is tantamount to betrayal.
Some see signs of the United States Congress being manipulated to undermine any thoughts of outreach to Iran. Some see serious push back against easing tensions in the coming days.  Some see benefits to keeping Tehran on the world's sh*t list.
Bottom line: Some don't see Israel taking this lying down. Some see more settlements being built in the occupied territories! Podcast BelowPodcast Below
