Issues Under Fire: Issues Under Fire is Officially on Hiatus Until Fall 2014 

After a long hot brutal summer of covering the war in Gaza, we are happy to say adios amigos for a spell. While the decision to cover a bad war as opposed to reading a good book for this summer's relaxation was exciting enlightening engaging and even enraging at times, it wouldn't be truthful not to admit the tremendous toll the experience took. 

Witnessing the depths of despair drive the Palestinian people to the brink of suicide, while observing the frustrations of Israelis drive themselves to the brink of genocide, was an emotional challenge to say the least. Still, so much was learned about humanity, the human spirit, and the power of pride, dignity and unity, it was an exoerience not to be missed.  

This experience was reminder that although a lie can be buried, it can't be killed. This experience was a reminded as to why the mainstream media in the U.S. should never be trusted. This experience was a reminder as to why no government's official statements should be accepted as the final word. This experience was a reminder as to why you should do your own investigating, analysis and reporting. 

Bottom line: This experience was a reminder of how the world's humanity will respond to cruelty and injustice, when they are made aware of it. This experience was a reminder of why people should never give up no matter what the odds. And that alone, was worth the price of admission to this experience.That being said, enjoy your summer and we hope to see you back here for our fall season. Its gonna be wild!
