Issues Under Fire: Iran Considers ISIS/ISIL A Regional Responsibility
Considering the Iraqi army collapsed (again) under pressure from ISIS/ISIL attackers at a military base,(this time) not twenty five miles outside of Baghdad, leaving 300 dead, wounded or missing, its clear Iraqi troops are ill prepared to handle their part of the fight. Considering this happened after being assured by U.S. military assessments, that Iraqi forces were up for the challenge, the Obama administration must be embarrassed to find itself backing another loser.
Considering newly elected Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi came to the U.N. General Assembly and promptly triggered an international terror alert by suggesting he had intelligence indicating the New York and Paris transit systems were targeted by ISIS/ISIL, it is clear the Iraqi leader is ill prepared to lead.
Considering the Iraqi PM placed New York and Paris commuters on a needless high alert, while costing both cities a small fortune for beefed up security measures, one should question if this man is physiologically fit for any duty. Displaying irresponsible and reckless behaviors at the first opportunity to instill confidence in his ability to hold Iraq together, has to have the Obama administration extremely worried.
Considering one Tomahawk Missile cost U.S. taxpayers over 500k per launch and the United States is firing them off in bunches every night lately in Syria, maybe the Obama administration should have let regional players handle their own business.

Considering the cost of training, equipping, managing and monitoring entirely new Syrian/Iraqi fighting forces to combat ISIS/ISIL (that won't be ready for years, if ever), it makes one wonder why the hell the United States keep doing stupid shit!

Bottom line: After Iran's President Hassan Rouhani stated in his message to the U.N. General Assembly that ISIS/ISIL is a regional problem and should be confronted by regional players, it was clear somebody was finally making some sense. Considering it was the regional players who created ISIS/ISIL and the conditions for the Islamic militants to thrive, it should be the regional players taking the lead and absorbing the expense to confront them.
