Issues Under Fire: Khorasan Group: Convenient Coincidence, or Cockamamy Con 

Failing to run "Operation Syria or Bust" past legal, the Obama administration turned to magic yesterday when President Obama literally pulled an imminent threat from his asshole to justify bombing targets within Syria. Facing critics both domestic and foreign, the administration came under pressure to provide a credible tale to help legitimize its actions. Enter the Khorasan Group:

Don't feel left out or ignorant if you've never heard of this latest clear and present danger, this ticking time bomb, this immediate threat to the homeland, for nobody else has either. Apparently, the world is to believe this AL Qaeda offshoot group just happened to be in the final stages of planning to attack the United States with toothpaste bombs.

We honestly wish we were making this sh*t up, but if anyone with sense were charged with deceiving a nation into war, you can bet they'd have come up with something more convincing than this government inspired fiction. Whether this story was fabricated from a few fragments of truth ( which is the foundation of most con jobs) or entirely made from whole cloth, one can rest easy knowing few, if anyone took it seriously.

With Europe, including the Russians ready and willing to confront ISIS/ISIL in Iraq, not one Western or Eastern power followed the United States into Syria. Burned more than once by U.S. cons for conflicts, the UK and the French wisely decided to sit the Syrian mission out.  

One can only imagine the frantic last minute roundtable discussions that were held to come up with a story that could be sold and sold fast. If Americans are given too much time to mull the madness over, it won't be long before they'll see the lies and whose telling them.  

However, in order to pull off a complicated con on a nation already skeptical of its leadership, you need professional schemers and scammers at the table. Pros like these are cunning and clever. It takes someone with a high degree of intelligence to concoct a con that will go undetected until one's objectives have been met. The best con jobs are never detected. 

Bottom line: Unfortunately, most observers viewed the administration's efforts to sneak this 12th hour fear-mongering laced line of bull for what exactly it was. It was nothing more than a lame attempt to cover the administration's ass and its tracks by a bunch of rank amateurs. President Obama should take notes from Vladimir Putin. He stole Crimea and nobody could even prove he was there until he was gone! Podcast Below!
