Issue Under Fire: Is it Time to Fire God?
Since we're confident most would agree the world sucks and seems to be getting worse, we think its time to try something different for a change. By now, it should be clear, even to a fool, that mankind is incapable of solving the world's problems. While one could argue mankind is the source of all its problems, one could rebuff the charge, due to God's gift of free will. God should have known better.
To allow mankind to act on his own impulses and expect things to turn out right was shortsighted. To leave without a word, save for a few holy books and remain incommunicado for more than two millennia was reckless and irresponsible. To watch paradise devolve into a living hell, without lifting a finger to save the innocent could be viewed as wanton neglect. God should be paying closer attention. God needs a good talking to.
If God won't show up when life becomes unbearable, what is God good for? With the planet warming, the population exploding, famine and drought increasing and poverty expanding worldwide, one would think, now would be a good time to answer a prayer or two. With wars that never end, leaving refugees stranded and starving around the globe, one would think God would lend a hand. With blood flowing in the streets of the Holy Land, one would think, at the very least, that would get a rise out of God. Unfortunately, to date, God has been as quite as a church mouse.
We say, why wait? We know where God lives. If God won't come to us, we're going to his space. We've got questions and we're not waiting another two thousands years for the answers. Wouldn't you like to know where God's been and what God's been doing? Wouldn't you like to know what God finds so interesting that God would take his eye off earth for so long? Wouldn't you like to know if God has any idea what's going on in our lives or even cares?
If God is clueless or careless, we think we should know that sooner than later. If we've pissed God off and have been damned without notice, we should know that too. If God has moved on to greener pastures, we say good for God, but we'd better start thinking and come up with a plan B. If we don't insist God provide answers to these questions now, we'll only have ourselves to blame later. Perhaps firing God may be a bit extreme, but a strong reprimand is definitely in order.
Bottom line: Considering most people live in fear of God and wouldn't think of challenging his authority, we're offering to do just that on your behalf. If God wants to get tough with somebody, let it be us. Lets face it, somebody has to stand up to God. How long are we going to allow God to reign in absentia on faith alone. Once and for all, we're going to demand a response and a plan for the future. After all, its been two thousand years; he should have something ready to present. Podcast Below!
