Issues Under Fire: Usurping W.H. Authority, GOP Invites Israeli PM to Address Congress
It begs one to wonder who's in charge of U.S. foreign policy, since House Speaker John Boehner took it upon himself to invite Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to address a joint session of Congress. In a complete breach of protocol, Boehner, the arrogant Israeli flunky, has blatantly usurped the White House and State Department's authority in handling such matters.
While at a critical juncture of delicate negotiations between the U.N. Security Council's P5+1 and Iran over its nuclear program and "production goals", the unauthorized invite could devastate any chances of a deal being reached. To grant Benjamin Netanyahu a platform to lecture America on the merits of attacking Iran would send all the wrong signals to Tehran at the wrong time. And, will almost certainly harden Iran's hard liners.
With both sides of Congress clamoring for additional sanctions against Iran at the behest of Israel, the Obama administration finds itself being hamstrung in the process. The cynics amongst us, see these latest moves as overt efforts to sabotage the talks. By allowing Israel to insert its self interest directly into the U.S. political process, Congress has effectively marginalized the administration's positions, strategy and overall management of the talks.
From this writer's research and previous reporting, nothing would please Israel more than seeing the Iranian nuclear negations fail. The best way to ensure failure is to continue piling new crippling sanctions upon Tehran until Iran abandons the talks altogether and brace themselves for the long awaited military option.
Bottom line: If President Obama wants to maintain control of these talks, its imperative he puts John Boehner and all other rogue Congressional agents working on behalf of Israeli lobbyist in their proper place. The best way to handle this matter is to let Netanyahu know the invitation was not issued by the White House and he'll be publicly snubbed by the administration for interfering. That should brush them back until the next deadline for action in March. Podcast Below!
