Issues Under Fire: Why Israeli Elections Matter

Issues Under Fire: Why Israeli Elections Matter
With only weeks left before the Israeli people choose a new direction for their "Uniquely Special Democracy", current Prime Minster Benjamin Netanyahu has gone on the offensive, by offending just about every international entity he'll need support from after Israel's scheduled March 17th elections.
From elbowing his way to the frontline of a Paris unity march, just to be seen paying respects to French terror attack victims (after being ask by the Hollande government not to attend for security reason), to bogarting his way into the United States' Congress to influence U.S.-Iranian nuclear negotiations (after being told by the Obama administration not to interfere), Benjamin Netanyahu has become an international nuisance.
Shamelessly imposing his presence on the international community at a time when the world is busy fighting terror, struggling to stabilize and sustain an unstable and unsustainable global economy, grappling with climate change, dealing with an exploding refugee population and global immigration issues, the obnoxiously abrasive Israeli leader insist all global concerns are secondary to Israel's security.
When Netanyahu, the pompous political irritant isn't pushing and shoving Israel's security needs to the global forefront, Netanyahu, the consummate warmongering provocateur is inciting fresh border conflicts with neighboring Lebanon or launching air strikes inside Syria. Should those tried and tested tactics fail to garner traction, there's always the default option of Iran bashing.
Whenever a close election is anticipated or the Israeli Prime Minister has domestic problems he can't deliver timely and viable solutions for, security of the Israeli people becomes paramount. Whenever the security of the Israeli people become paramount in Israel, the security of the Israeli people become paramount to the United States.
Bottom line: While many Americans have rightly concluded U.S. elections won't have much of an impact on their daily lives, oddly enough, elections in Israel could have a major impact on the United States, as Congress will undoubtedly prioritize Israel's needs above all others. Depending upon how far Right Israel swings in March, the entire world could be placed on the back burner.
BTW, we experienced some technical difficulties that prevented our regularly scheduled podcast of Issues Under Fire today. But, you've got Rocky Jordan as a great substitute. This episode is entitled "Ace High Straight". Enjoy and share as per usual.
