Issues Under Fire: Will GOP Lower Nation's Shields While America Face Major Threats
In an overt attempt to undermine President Obama, the GOP may be going too far. With calls to activate Jihadist within the United States against Americans from crazed groups like ISIS, Al Qaeda and Al Shabaab, one would think, now is hardly the time to defund the Department of Homeland Security. To purposefully reduce the nation's capacity to protect itself when enemies are publicly threatening to attack America anyway they can, seems like an open invitation to anyone with a mind to harm the nation.
Surely, Congressional renegades have to consider crazy people watch cable news. How many of them may be thinking this would be a good time to make a move. With 15% of the D.H.S. being furloughed and requiring the remaining 85% to work without pay, has to create exposures some place. As threats keep popping up everywhere, the GOP is actually going to lower the nation's shields. Perhaps Republicans would like to tarnish the President's perfect record of keeping a large scale attack from occurring on his watch. Any other explanation remains a mystery.
Although the idea of the GOP being as dangerous to the United States as any terrorist group has been entertained before, the premise should be review again. Considering the GOP invited the Israeli Prime Minister to speak before a joint session of Congress, to subvert the administration's efforts in reaching a deal with Iran over Tehran's nuclear programs, one could reasonably conclude near treasonous activities are taking place amongst the ranks of the Republican Party.
Apparently not satisfied with placing the nation at risk of being attacked, GOP insurgents are so intent upon humiliating the Obama administration, they're perfectly willing to publicly align themselves with a foreign leader against the President of the United States. With the entire world watching, the GOP chomps at the bit to support Benjamin Netanyahu at the expense of President Obama. One can Google American history forever and not find as blatant Congressional disrespect for a U.S. President or such a reckless disregard for the safety and security of the American people.
Bottom line: At the risk of being dramatic, in this writer's opinion, anyone who'd knowingly and willingly expose the America people to needless risk to life and limb, is a traitor. Anyone engaging in activities that diminishes the power and prestige of the United States Presidency while doing the bidding of a foreign entity is guilty of treason. Its one thing to vehemently disagree with the President, but its another thing to disrespect the Presidency. Podcast Below!
