Issues Under Fire: Will Leaked Mossad Docs. Mitigate Netanyahu's Hysteria Over Iran
Despite Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's ceaseless claims, the world only has minutes to live if it doesn't bomb the bejesus out of Iran before Tehran launches a nuclear strike on somebody, it appears even Mossad, his own intelligence service thinks Netanyahu is a bit of an alarmist. Recently leaked documents, published by The Guardian and Al Jazeera indicate Mossad reported "Iran at this stage is NOT performing the activity necessary to produce weapons."
In fact, the Israeli spy agency provided its report to Benjamin Netanyahu prior to his 2012 U.N. General Assembly performance where he provided a cartoon-like presentation, pointing out precisely how close Iran was to having "The Bomb". If these reports are true, Netanyahu was either lying through his teeth when he addressed the General Assembly, or the man is simply delusional and needs to be replaced.
Considering all 16 American intelligence agencies essentially concurred with Mossad's assessment of Iran's capabilities and intentions, its difficult to understand what the Israeli Prime Minister is basing his accusations on. Can it be, the Prime Minister is receiving intelligence from a source the rest of the sane world don't have access to?
In Senate testimony, as well as television appearances, James R. Clapper, Director of National Intelligence, David A. Petraeus, then C.I.A. Director, then Defense Secretary Leon E. Panetta and General Martin E. Dempsey, Chairmen of the Joint Chiefs of Staff all have stated for the record, there was no evidence, that Iran had been or is currently making a concerted effort to build a nuclear weapon. While the Intelligence community has its faults, they can't all be wrong at the same time.
If the international intelligence community's finding are legitimate, one has to question the legitimacy of crippling Iran's economy through international sanctions. Led by the United States and instigated by Israel, Tehran has suffered greatly from sanctions levied upon them without clear and substantiated proof of wrongdoing. Possibly paying for crimes never committed or even contemplated, the Iranian government should have a strong case against Western powers to recover damages for unjustified economic aggressions.
Bottom line: Initially, many were outraged to learn Benjamin Netanyahu was forcing himself upon the American people for another of his hype and hysteria speeches. But after these latest revelations, many should be looking forward to the Prime Minister's visit. It will give Mr. Netanyahu an opportunity to explain the wide divide between the world's facts and his fiction. Podcast Below!
