Issues Under Fire: U.S. Congress Triggers Mexican Standoff With Tehran
Due a Mexican Standoff having developed between Tehran and the Israeli influenced U.S. Congress, Issues Under Fire will suspend coverage and analysis of the Iran-P5+1 nuclear negotiations until one or both sides of said standoff softens or shifts a position. And considering the degree of distrust between these two entities, the probability of that occurring anytime soon appears low.
With both sides having reached diametrically opposed positions on the nonnegotiable issues, (sanctions and inspections) one can only speculate how the process proceeds from this juncture. One can only speculate as to what the conflicted parties will have to negotiate, when staring in the face of each others nonstarters. One can only speculate as to why a resumption of the talks in Vienna on April 22-23 2015 remains calendared.
Bottom line: Save for the Obama administration being reduced to a secondary player as a result of this stalemate, there's little left to analyze for comment at this time. For all intents and purposes, this dramatically enlightening story has come to a sudden halt.
Therefore, this observer will take a break from the inaction to enjoy a bit of Spring. C-ya Monday. Maybe!
