Issues Under Fire: Black Lives Matter, Except to Blacks in Chicago

Issues Under Fire: Black Lives Matter, Except to Blacks in Chicago

As the Black Lives Matter Movement continues to gather steam across the nation, many troubling questions remain unanswered when it comes to certain parts of the country. Why are Blacks killing Blacks in record numbers in Chicago? Is it mostly a gang related issue? Is it related to decades of poverty? Is it related to years of human neglect? Is this violence related to the breakdown of the family structure? Is it a lack of educational and career opportunities? Is it a massive mental health issue? Could it be all these things combined?

Whatever the reason Black lives are being taken so lightly and liberally in Chicago, Black people demanding relief from racial oppression in America need to allocate and direct some of that energy inward. Its imperative Black people take a step back and examine what is wrong with the people in their communities committing these acts of violence. Killing is not normal, yet in Chicago's Black community, it has become acceptable.

When the Chicago Tribune reported up to nine people wounded in gun related incidents yesterday alone, those facts hardly penetrated the national narrative. If you wanted more on that story, you'd have to be hunting for it. Shootings and killings of Blacks by Blacks has become so prevalent and routine in Chicago, aside from close friends, relatives and the statistic monitors, those lives are lost to history, because those lives didn't matter to the Blacks who took them. Why that fact hasn't triggered more of a response than barber shop chatter is a mystery to be solved. And this observer hates mysteries!

When stories of Black men, women and children dying at the hands of other Black people for some of the most trivial reasons, the broader Black community either runs for cover, or find ways to explain away the tragedy. We need more programs, we need more training, we need more police on the streets to protect us from us, they say. But too few will acknowledge the Nigger factor. These are Niggers killing Black people. And in the current climate of  politically correctness in America these days, only Black people can have that conversation.

At some point, its going to take Black people courageous enough to honestly and openly scrutinize the root causes of Black against Black violence. At some point, Blacks and those identifying themselves as African Americans are going to have to admit there are some lowdown dirty  Niggers amongst their ranks. At some point, Black people/African Americans are going to have to make a clear distinction between themselves and the Niggers who fail to comprehend the value of life.

Black people and African Americans can ill afford to retire and or bury the Nigger word when so many Niggers are still walking the streets of their communities. Any Black/African American with such low regard for human life, harboring hard, cold and compassionless hearts that could kill a nine year old child to settle a score with a rival is a Nigger. Any Black/African American that would sanction that kind violence with their silence is not much more than a Nigger either. Why these Niggers have yet to be called out and ostracized for what they are is another mystery to be solved.

Bottom line: While few if any ethic groups are willing to air their dirty laundry publicly, Blacks killing Blacks is no secret. This is a Black problem that's been ignored for too long. This is a Black problem that can only be solved by Black people . If Black people can't convince Black people that Black lives matter, they won't have a chance in hell of convincing anybody else.
