Redneck Round Up:
The Oregon standoff is in the mop up stages, as 3 more Billy Bobs were arrested. From a jail cell, ring leader Ammon Bundy urged stragglers to just go home. Whether any listen remains to be seen, but when the last of the loons realize no one will be standing outside some federal prison demanding their release, they'll likely pack up and face the music. And the music will be expensive and time consuming. The Billy Bobs will be looking at heavy fines and serious prison time.
While this was a great story and a lot of fun to cover, it should serve a lesson to dumb redneck Billy Bobs all over the nation. Going up against a government that maintains a military doctrine of engaging an enemy, foreign or domestic with overwhelming force, is a losing proposition. Considering this wasn't the Billy Bobs' first rodeo and many possessing military training and experience, they should've been fully aware of what the FBI, ATF, Homeland Security and the Justice Department are authorized and capable of. Still, sane Americans can't thank the Billy Bobs enough for the laughs.
Obama, Sanders Meet Behind Closed Doors:
In more pressing news, Barack Obama met with Senator Bernie Sanders, presumably to balance the message coming out of the White House to maintain an impartial position during the primary process. Since the meeting was out of public view, one can only speculate as to how that meeting really went. Considering Bernie Sanders' message seems more in line with Barack Obama's political agenda and social philosophy, it's difficult to comprehend why the President wouldn't secretly prefer Sanders to Clinton. And its because of this mystery, we're left to ponder, why can't American have free stuff?
No. Seriously. Why can't America find a way to provide what other industrialized nations routinely guarantee their citizens? Why can't America find a way to provide universal healthcare free. Why can't America find a way to provide free college tuition? Why can't America find a way to strengthen America's social safety net? Why can't American business find a way to pay American workers a living wage? Why is this too much to ask of an "exceptional" nation? Why?
Since we're asking why, why not ask the Clinton campaign some whys? Why is Hillary Clinton pitching affordable healthcare for Americans? Why is Hillary Clinton pitching affordable college tuition for Americans? Why is Hillary Clinton is pitching raising the minimum wage for Americans? Why is Hillary Clinton pitching affordability when no matter how affordable somethings are made, some Americans still won't be able to afford them? Why is Hillary Clinton pitching "No We Can't" afford free, when we know "We Know We Can?"
Bottom line: Why is Hillary Clinton lowering America's expectations, when Bernie Sanders is raising them? Why Hillary? Why? Podcast below!
