Issues Under Fire: As Young People Feel the Bern, Clinton Feels the Heat

Since Hillary Clinton is essentially relying on her resume to compete with Bernie Sanders' revolutionary message going forward, it might be a good idea to unpack that resume for a closer inspection. With accomplishment being a central theme, we'll start with Hillary Clinton's early years and end with her stint at the State Department. While this effort may seem like a daunting task given Hillary Clinton's unequalled and unprecedented experience to be president of the United States, don't worry, it'll be brief.
In short, a young and ambitious Hillary Diane Rodham met William Jefferson Clinton and recognized this smart, handsome, smooth talking stud had a future. Smart in her own right, but cursed with a face for radio, Hillary held on tight and rode the handsome stud to the White House. After absorbing more than her share of bruises along the way, Hillary Clinton parlayed her marriage to "Slick Willie" into a U.S.Senate seat from the state of New York. With Bill's clout, popularity and a straw man for an opponent, it was a rout.
Once settled into the Big Apple on 125th Street in Harlem, Bill and Hillary worked their black magic on African Americans for support, while soaking liberal Jews in Westchester County for cash. It was a brilliant plan to set up a run for the U.S. presidency, until Hillary had to stand on her own, facing a young, intelligent and charismatic Barack Obama with oratory skills to die for. The fact that Obama was Black only made things worse.
Even with Slick Willies's magic touch, convincing Black people they'd be better served by the first woman president, than the first Black one was a tough sell. And history proved that was an impossible mission, considering Hillary had nothing to offer but her resume. At a time when the country was demanding hope and change, Hillary Clinton was only prepared to deliver experience. If you don't remember the pitch, it was: "Ready on Day One!"
With Barack Obama feeling obligated to the Clintons for their tepid support after trouncing Hillary's ass for the nomination, he threw the loser the State Department bone. But the only legacy being established at that post, is the Benghazi hearings and an FBI investigation into the mishandling of classified e-mails.
Besides Hillary Clinton's world wide fight for "Girl Power" and "White Girl Power" at that, its difficult to see anything she's accomplished on her own to get excited about. Whenever one gloms on to another person's success to cover one's shortcomings, whatever one achieves will be marginalized. Were it not for hooking up with Bill in the early years, Hillary Diane Rodham might be just another lawyer or lobbyist for some corporate cause.
Bottom line: What's wrong with the Clinton message? Everything. The young, the poor, the middle class and people of color aren't impressed with all that Washington experience. Experience only means one is skilled at what's been done before and what's been done before doesn't work anymore. The American people want a complete overhaul of the nation's political and economic systems. The American people want a reversal of fortunes. A bloated resume can't deliver that, but a revolution can. Podcast below!
