Issues Under Fire: Beware Smart People

While the mainstream media sits on pins and needles awaiting Iowa's caucus results, this looks like a perfect opportunity to duck out and do something responsible for a change. Today's podcast/post is an advisory, a warning if you will, about the dangers smart people pose to those of average intelligence. If you think about it, smart people are a greater threat to average minds than terrorism. There is no defense against smart people, because average people have no choice but to trust them.
When you go to the doctor and see all the degrees on the wall, many times average people don't even question his/her credentials before allowing them to remove a liver, a spleen or a gallbladder. When you go to your stockbroker, you trustingly place your retirement investments and kids education fund in the hands of smart people. When you're given contracts drawn up and presented by smart people, rarely do you understand the fine print, but you sign them just the same. Sure, you could get a second opinion, but how do you know which smart person is telling the truth.
In reality, smart people have taken over the world and there's nothing average people can do about it. The smart people wrote all the rules, regulations, policies and procedures. The smart people hired law enforcement to make sure the average people stay in line and don't rock the boat. The smart people raised the cost of education to make sure people of average intellect remained average or below. When average people do get a clue and breaks a rule or two to get ahead for once, they're thrown in jail. When smart people break a rule or two or three or four, they get richer.
When the smart people on Wall Street stole trillions from the world's economy between 2005-2008, they got away with it. While average people lost their life savings, their homes and their jobs, not one smart person involved even saw the inside of a courtroom. Smart people now have masses of average people working long hard hours for peanuts, while they're raking in huge and sometimes tax free profits. And to add insult ti injury, smart people got average peoples so hooked on credit, they'll carry their debts to the grave.
Smart people develop medications that'll cure a headache and even though it might grow a penis on your head, they can still convince an average minded person to fill the costly prescription. To cover themselves, smart lawyers will hide a disclaimer in the fine print that negates any responsibility for any and all unfortunate side effects. When you have smart doctors, lawyers and financial professionals working against you, the average minds don't have a chance.
Bottom line: If you're not a smart person, you should avoid smart people. Smart people can be dangerous. If smart people don't like you, you could be in real trouble. They can sell you stuff you don't need or even want. They can get you to vote for things you don't believe in, understand or support. Smart people can start wars and con not so smart people into fighting them. After all, with all Albert Einstein's brilliance, he didn't cure cancer, he built a nuclear bomb. Podcast below!
