Issues Under Fire: Why Donald Trump Could Win it All

Normally we don't cover the GOP's circus, aka the Republican presidential primaries, but somehow it begs one to wonder why the Democrat's side of the ledger is so tame. Republicans and conservatives have been raising holy hell over their dissatisfaction with the way the Party's leadership have let them down. And they seem determined to return the favor. Democrats on the other hand, don't even appear that upset.
Rank and file Republican voters are so pissed off and fed up, they're willing to dismantle the entire Party to rebuild it based on what they perceive as their core principals and values. They know they've not been taken seriously and they won't settle for anything less than what they're fighting for anymore. They want a smaller government. They want their guns. They want a really big wall on the southern border. They want a stronger military. And it looks like they want Donald Trump.
Since Republicans don't care about Black lives, climate change, the environment, poverty, education, healthcare, renewable energy or even women's issues, Donald Trump is the perfect tool for smashing the GOP, because he doesn't care about that stuff either. You don't see Trump courting the votes of Blacks, women, the poor or those interested in preserving the planet. By a Republican's measure, those issues won't make America great again, those issues will only weaken America.
With a base of seething Republicans supporting his every insult, Trump can get away with calling Mexicans criminals, Muslims terrorists, women he doesn't like 'fat pigs', 'dogs', 'slobs' and 'disgusting animals', while telling Pope Francis to mind his own damn business. Having rabidly angry followers like Trump's, as long as the victim is Black or Latino, he probably could shoot somebody on Fifth Avenue and still win the Republican nomination.
As the entire national media openly discuss ways to derail Donald Trump's campaign, he and his hot headed supporters continue to laugh in the face of conventional wisdom, while steamrolling their way toward a path to victory. Fired up and impassioned, Trump devotees have given him license to do and say just about anything in their names, as long as he keeps promising small government, guns on demand, no immigrants and of course, to remake America in the image of Donald Trump. Rich and Powerful.
By no means, is this observer calling for Bernie Sanders to bitch slap Hillary Clinton during the next scheduled debate, but if it were not for the Black Lives Matter movement mixing it up with the Democratic establishment, there wouldn't be any excitement at all. While Sanders' message has steamed some people up a bit, few self described Democrats, Liberals, and Progressives appear ready to "Tear the Roof off the Sucker".
Bottom line: Because Republican voters are so angry, they've been able to push their candidate as far to the right as they wanted him to be. And it's because of that anger Republicans will get the nominee they most want to champion their cause. On the other hand, Democrats aren't so angry. Democrats aren't pushing their candidate far enough to the left. And it's because of that lack of anger and push-back, Democrats won't get  the nominee they most want to champion their cause. If disappointed Democrats sit on their hands in the fall, Donald Trump could win it all. Podcast below!
