Issues Under Fire: The Zika People Are Coming

Some people should burn in hell for what they're discussing online about the tragic Zika babies. Being born with tiny heads, many want to know if the tiny headed babies will grow into tiny headed adults. What level of intellect will they possess? What special needs will they have? And lets be honest, will they be scary and creepy? On the other hand, while it sucks to openly ask these questions, to think about them and not share one's concerns could ill prepare people for their first encounter with a tiny head.
Imagine waiting for the bus and a tiny headed man stands next to you. Not a small headed man mind you, but a really tiny headed guy. Will you know what to do or say? Will you stare, point, laugh or run away? Will you try to communicate with the tiny headed man or will you just try to ignore him? These are questions you should have answers for before its too late. Oh sure, people will tell you to just treat the tiny headed man like you'd want to be treated, but what's the real world answer? What's a reasonable personable person to do when faced with an unreasonable circumstance?
Despite overwhelming evidence to contrary, some conspiracy theorist are positing the usual secret government experiment gone awry stuff. Supposedly, the mothers of these babies were accidentally infected by scientifically designed mosquitos. The Zika virus was being developed as a bio-weapon to discourage targeted populations from having children. Populations not targeted would be immune to the Zika virus. At least, that was the plan.
Unfortunately, the virus mutated and became just as infectious to every ethnic group equally. When the first reports of tiny headed babies began surfacing outside remote villages in Africa, Asia and Polynesia, the World Health Organization sounded the alarm. Millions could be infected is the prediction. Travel should be restricted is the recommendation. Air and cruise lines are giving refunds to child baring age vacationers suddenly reconsidering their plans. It's a world wide issue now.
While some diabolical government experiment to reduce the numbers of certain ethic groups may be a bit farfetched, the fact remains, there will be millions of tiny headed people walking around someday. Because there is no vaccine, the number of the tiny heads could explode. Lets be realistic, some people are going to keep screwing no matter what the risk. Some people won't use protection no matter what they're told. Some people are going to bring their offspring to term no matter how tiny the baby's head will be. Some people just don't care.
Still, what does all this mean for the world going forward? The longer it takes to find a solution to this problem, the more tiny headed people there's gonna be. Think of what junior high school will be like for the tiny headed student. Will they be allowed to play sports? Imagine the tiny heads doing a header in a soccer game. That could be interesting to watch. But imagin how hard its going to be finding baseball caps and football helmets for little tiny heads. Hint: (Business opportunity)
Bottom line: Will the tiny headed people be a protected class? Will the rules of political correctness apply? Would you hire a tiny head or would they be too much of a distraction in the work place? Will a person be fired for making tiny head slurs in public? Would you want to be the only one laughing out loud every time a tiny head person walked by? Can you now see why these issues need to be discussed? Podcast below!
BTW, we did cover the Iowa caucus results in today's podcast, but in all honesty that story wasn't nearly as interesting to write about as the invasion of the Tiny Heads.
