Since we've always contended Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump would be the last liars left standing, after last night's elections results, we think it's time now to review how they did it. Simply put, Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump used the same strategy. They relied on the KISS principle. They captured the dimwitted imaginations of the simpleton class, by delivering simple messages to the simpleminded. And the strategy was simply brilliant.
Clinton is beating Bernie Sanders for one reason and one reason alone. While Bernie Sanders had a revolutionary message, loaded with changes for a better, fairer and brighter future, compared to Hillary Clinton's message, the voter had to do a bit of thinking to see the Sanders vision. If thinking is not the average voter's strongest attribute, they're more likely to stick with what they know. And they know Hillary Clinton well.
The more education the Democratic voter had, the more likely they'd support Bernie Sanders over Hillary Clinton. These voters could envision what real healthcare reform should've looked like. They could see Obama's affordable healthcare scheme is still a tad higher and more complicated than many could manage. They could see how coming out of university debt free would stimulate the economy, as newbies could start families and buy homes and cars sooner rather than later, because of student loans hanging over their heads. These voters didn't even need Bernie Sanders to tell them the system was rigged against them.
Unfortunately, revolutions require two things the simpleminded class (in this case voters) simply don't have - imagination and open minds. Hillary Clinton simply pandered to less sophisticated mindsets. Keeping things simple for the stupid, Clinton promised a few bones, while being mindful to constantly remind them of "the good old days." With Bill Clinton stumping on Hillary's behalf to reinforce her simple (let's not reach for anything too hard) strategy, the simpletons never had a chance to think too deeply, even if they could.
On the Republican side of the ledger, the Donald Trump strategy was pretty much the same, only Trump was more honest. "The Donald" actually told his followers how much he loved the poorly educated voter. In fact, the less education the GOP voter had, the more fervently they'd support Donald Trump. As long as Trump supporters were angry, they didn't need to think about anything else.
Trump's message was even simpler. "If you vote for me I'll make American great again." Details to follow. "Oh yeah, trust me, I'm a successful businessman." That's it! And they bought it, hook line and sinker. The message was so simple, Republican simpletons didn't even bother to question it. If making America great again meant White men would be top dog in the world "like the good old days", Republican simpletons were willing to buy Trump's bill of goods sight unseen.
Bottom line: If you accept this analysis, you'll have to accept the fact that America's least educated and least informed voters are poised to nominate America's least honest and least trustworthy candidates for the presidency of the United States. Having far more simpletons than any other demographic populating the U.S. electorate, no matter which Party wins the White House, the simpletons will have been conned into settling for the least of all possibilities.
