Issues Under Fire: Why Low Voter Turnout Plagues Hillary Clinton

While the GOP's savaging of Donald Trump is the white hot issue of the day, somehow watching evil devouring one of its own is like watching a cockfight in some dusty Mexican village. No matter which cock wins, everybody will dine on chicken quesadillas afterwards. So no thanks, we'll pass on the grilled Trump in favor of a couple of fried Clinton nuggets. And although we know it's all mystery meat, we couldn't resist the urge to see what's really inside.
The fattiest nugget is the email scandal. With the Feds hot on Hillary's ass, the Clinton crew remain in constant damage control mode responding to what's become daily reports of how the Justice Department and FBI's investigations are progressing. Fending off relentless barrages of probing questions surrounding the Clinton aide accepting an immunity offer, has to be more than a mere distraction. And with the public watching and waiting for the next shoe to drop, it's difficult to look cool while frying in the hot seat.
However, the greasiest nugget is the low voter interest in the Clinton campaign. With Donald Trump literally generating new faces of support out of his own hot air, Hillary Clinton can't seem to generate a new face any more than she can generate a new idea. And unfortunately, therein lies the problem. There was absolutely nothing new, different or inspiring about Hillary Clinton in 2008 and there's nothing new, different or inspiring about her now. So why the DNC tried to pass off Hillary's stale White bread as a fresh French croissant was a mystery to be solved. And we did!
The real reason the Clinton machine and the DNC can't get their base support to the polls in greater numbers is because the Left's political acumen was greater than the DNC's establishment anticipated. When the astute observer wondered immediately and persistently why there were so few choices, views and options available for inspection and selection this election cycle, they were blown off or ignored as if the DNC had all the answers. In truth, the DNC treated the Democratic base of support no better than the GOP treated theirs. And both are now paying a hefty price for selling their core support short.
When self described Democrats, Liberals and Progressives rejected Hillary Clinton in favor of Barack Obama in 2008, they delivered their message loudly and clearly. They told Washington D.C. they wanted fresh hope and real change to look forward to. And just because President Obama wasn't able to deliver on his promises or meet all expectations, didn't mean his supporters forgot why they voted for him twice. So when eight years later, they got the same warmed-over, rerun from yesteryear shoved down their throats, many were less than interested, to say the least.
Bottom line: No matter how the DNC and the Clinton campaign spin the lack of enthusiasm, reality reveals, the Democratic establishment underestimated the intelligence of its core support. When the grassroots Left was carefully preparing for the post Obama era, Clinton and the DNC were cunningly preempting any serious challenges to their own path to the Democratic nomination. Failing to realize the Left was wise to the fix, the DNC served up straw-man Martin O'Malley and placed socialist Bernie Sanders on the menu to disguise the foul taste of Hillary Clinton's mystery meat campaign. And that's all there is to it.
