Issues Under Fire: Trump University, Caveat Emptor and Buyers Remorse

Since we're all just hanging around to see what Bernie Sanders is gonna do after California, we thought it'd be cool to take a look at the Trump University scandal. At first glance, the long overdue story appeared to have had some serious issues to explore, but upon closer inspection, we began to see glaring cracks in the cases of those suing Donald Trump over his get rich quick curriculum. In fact, the more we examined this story the more we found reason to defend Donald Trump. And yeah, we know that sucks.
As the tale is currently being told, a bunch of gullible souls begged, borrowed and stole for the opportunity to be educated in the art of making money. They were encouraged to invest in their futures by investing in themselves. Some of these gullible souls were desperate, some were greedy, others weren't very bright. When told the lessons they'd learn would bring them the riches they desired, these gullible souls willingly signed on the dotted line and bought the dream. The Donald Trump dream.
Presuming all of the complainants were adults and of sound mind when they bought Donald Trump's dream, they should have been aware that few dreams ever come true. They should've asked for proof. They should've demanded verifiable success stories beyond "The Donald's". They should've done their due diligence. But we all know desperate, greedy and not very bright people are made to order for the get rich quick pitch. And when a big shot billionaire is pitching, what chance does a desperate, greedy or not so bright gullible soul have.
They were blinded by the celebrity, the limos, the mansions, the yachts, the hot wives, the golf courses, the private planes, the media attention. You know, the life of the rich and famous. But as the saying goes, in order to make money, you've got to spend money. So, for a meager $1,495 for the three day seminar and a modest investment of $35,000 for the three month course, all of the above (and more) could be yours. What could be simpler? What could be safer? What could go wrong? After all, this University is wearing the Donald Trump brand. And Donald Trump is rich!
Unfortunately, as it always does, reality rears its ugly head. After several months of hard work and determination applying the lessons learned over and over and over again, the gullible souls finally get it. This shit doesn't work. They realize they've been had. They've been taken. They've been duped, robbed and played for fools. They call the school, but it's hard to find anyone who'll pay much attention to their concerns. If anything, they'll be told it must be something they're doing wrong. And sadly, some gullible souls will accept this excuse because people who can be talked into get rich quick scams can generally be talked out of doing anything about them.
In many cases gullible souls are forced to keep their mistakes to themselves. They don't want friends, relatives and associates knowing how stupid they are. They don't want to face all that "I told you so" crap. They don't want to hear any "If it sounds too good to be true" stuff. Scam artists know it takes a brave soul willingly to advertise their gullibility. They just want to get a refund as quickly and quietly as possible. They just hope and pray nobody finds out how much they got burned for. And BTW, only God can help the man who didn't tell his wife.
Bottom Line: As slimy as he is, Donald Trump, with a half-assed lawyer, has a good chance of beating this fraud rap, if only because Trump University wasn't selling anything most other institutions of higher learning in America aren't selling. Some U.S. colleges and universities are charging more than 150k-200k for an education with no guarantees the student will ever find a job paying enough to recoup that investment. Like gullible souls, every year students all over the country sign their lives away to banks to pay for a dream that may never come true. If Donald Trump can be successfully sued for selling a dream, then so should NYU. Podcast below!
