Firstly, this is the story you won't read about here today.
This is awkward. When we closed shop for the weekend Thursday, our visitors were promised a full story of a brave police chief taking the unheard of step of apologizing for law enforcement's historic mistreatment of minorities in America. We thought that was a major step in the right direction and wanted to recognize this man's willingness to change the narrative. We thought a story like this was worth at least a thousand words.
Unfortunately, a lot of water has gone under the bridge since then, as the NYPD shot and killed a 66 year old woman in the Bronx recently. Self defense, the cops say, since the elderly woman, known to be mentally unbalanced, had a baseball bat at the time. Apparently, the use of a taser wasn't an option, although the veteran officer had one available.
While city officials appear to be saying all the right things so far, history will show it's unlikely those city officials will do all the right things when the elderly woman's family seeks justice in court. Sadly, it's because of routine tragedies like this, we're forced to accept the fact that the aforementioned police chief may simply be ahead of his time. Therefore, we must move on. Next up Donald Trump's scorched earth strategy.

Donald Trump: If you Can't Beat-em, Burn Their House Down
While dejected Bernie Sanders supporters fell silent after the champion of their revolution caved to the Democratic establishment, Donald Trump on the other hand, has no such plan to surrender. Win or lose, Trump's got a scheme to claim victory no matter what. If the billionaire businessman claims the U.S. 2016 general election was a fraud from its inception, a lot of people are going to believe him. Such a claim could ignite widespread anger among voters and seriously undermine the credibility of a Hillary Clinton presidency (if she wins). Let us explain.
With the Russians "allegedly" providing Democrats and Progressives with hacked email evidence confirming what many already suspected the DNC and Party elites of predetermining - a Hillary Clinton nomination - it should be easy to portray Clinton as just a political undesirable that was forced upon them. Bernie Sanders supporters will accept this theory without question. And since Trump devotees will accept anything he says about the American political process, he'll have a majority of the electorate convinced Clinton and America's two party system is a farce, a sham and always has been.
Inexplicably, the Democrats and by extension the Clinton campaign, refuse to deny the validity of the hacked emails with any vigor. Instead, they're deflecting critical analysis of the damaging revelations to keep the focus on Russia's "alleged" interference in America's democratic process. Since this tactic will ultimately fail to quell or quiet the growing animosity toward America's political establishment, Donald Trump can use a loss (if he loses) to sow the seeds of a plausible conspiracy (The Fix Was in the Mix).
Donald Trump could conceivably have voters from both Parties marching on the White House with lit torches and pitch forks. Imagine Sanders supporters revolting against the Party elites on the Left, as Trump supporters attack Party elites on the Right. With Progressive activists armed with the truth and Conservative purists heavily armed with everything else, things could get interesting. And we needn't mention how this scorched earth strategy will appear to the international community. America could look as though it's finally become politically unhinged.
This may have been Donald Trump's plan from the very beginning. Perhaps he never really wanted to be president of the United States. If one examines his conduct throughout this entire bizarre process, Donald Trump seemed as intent on destroying the Republican Party as he was on defeating the Democrats. In fact, Donald Trump has spent as much time trashing Republican leadership for being weak and ineffective as much he's been demonizing Hillary Clinton as a liar and a crook. Perhaps his idea of making America great again is tearing it down and rebuilding it completely in his own image (that could be scary, too).
Bottom line: In reality, the number of American voters who feel betrayed, disaffected and left behind, could far exceed those remaining loyal to and trusting of America's established two Party system. And with Donald Trump generating so much smoke from incendiary accusations of lies, corruption and outright fraud throughout his campaign, he'll have little trouble getting a fire started in the minds of the disappointed. If Donald Trump can successfully delegitimize the election (if he loses), he can successfully delegitimize Hillary Clinton (if she wins). Podcast below.
