Issues Under Fire: No Matter Who Wins the U.S. Presidency, the Two Party System Loses
In an endless effort to keep our visitors and listeners up to speed on what's happening in their world and assist in the understanding of what will happen next, we thought it might be interesting to take a look at what awaits America after the last vote is counted in the U.S.' 2016 elections. And believe it or not, what's coming is actually good news, because no matter which Party wins the White House, America's Two Party system has finally been defeated. We predict, moving forward, there will be at least four viable political Parties, perhaps even five. Gives us a minute and we'll explain.
After decades of lies, neglect and outright ignoring the needs of "We the People", America's two party system, run by political elites for political elites, has finally been exposed for what it is. More people know now, these are two private political clubs who make up their own rules to benefit the Parties and protect established policies and practices. These private clubs don't have to answer to the government or "We the People". They've successfully operated this way for so long, anybody looking to change or willing to challenge the way the two Parties do business, will be considered a threat. New ideas are not welcome in this political culture. If corruption is working, why change it.
Unfortunately, after eight years of Washington D.C.'s gridlock, through intentional obstructionism and the influence of special interest, "We the People" began to understand the two Party system was working for everyone but "We the People." Democrat and Republican voters alike, started looking for something new, fresh and different. Hence, enter Bernie Sanders, Donald Trump, Gary Johnson and Jill Stein. Bernie Sanders crashed Hillary Clinton's Party, while Donald Trump smashed the GOP. And Gary Johnson's Libertarian and Jill Stein's Green Party answered the call for those who really wanted to change America's political path forward. These people will never participate as traditional Democrats or Republicans again.
Many Liberals, Progressives and Independents who've supported the Democratic Party, simply refused to accept an unopposed coronation of Hillary Clinton. They wanted an option and they wanted one badly. But when that option (Sanders) was sabotaged by the DNC, they broke with that Party for good. After uncovering mountains of evidence from credible sources establishing Hillary Clinton as Wall Street's woman on the inside, a war hawk tethered to the military industrial complex and a political minimalist at best, principled voters who found these descriptors revolting, simply revolted. While some just gave up on the process altogether, others began looking for another option. And albeit a tiny number, some decided to partner with Jill Stein's Green Party.
The other side of the ledger is no better. The Republican Party paid even less attention to its constituents than the Democrats did to their base of support. Totally consumed with the requirements of the corporate community, it became painfully clear to even the staunchest of middle class, conservative Republicans, that the GOP had little use for them after they'd cast their votes. Republican voters are treated like poor relations the GOP is forced to break bread with every Thanksgiving, but wants no part of during the rest of the year. Although minimally educated, with limited skills, Republican voters eventually realized they were just being lied to and used. And while it may have taken awhile, when they did get pissed off enough to look for a change, many disappointed Republicans looked to Donald Trump as an option.
From this observer's perspective, the two dominant Parties have only survived this long without significant challenge because heretofore, many of "We the people" were afraid of dramatic change. Most Americans have identified themselves as Democrats or Republicans all their lives. Many never even thought of being anything else, because their parents and grandparents were all either Democrats or Republicans. To vote otherwise was considered to be too radical to be considered seriously. Fortunately, a growing number of Americans can see these are radical times and radical times call for radical changes if they're to be survived. And those who've made the radical decision to switch Parties or write in the name of anybody but a Democrat or Republican don't feel they've wasted a vote, they feel they're making a statement.
Bottom line: While we're predicting no November miracle with a Jill Stein or Gary Johnson stunning "come from out of nowhere" victory, putting national pollsters and the lame stream media out of business for good, we are predicting the Green Party will attract and expand its membership substantially from former disaffected Democrats. We're also predicting the Libertarian Party will attract and expand its membership substantially from former disaffected Republicans. And since we're predicting win or lose, Donald Trump will break with the Republicans and start his own political Party, these events will effectively expand America's two Party system into five viable political Parties. And it's about damn time. Podcast below.
