Issues Under Fire: Is Donald Trump Living Large at the Expense of the Poor?

Is Donald Trump Living Large at the Expense of the Poor?
While Donald Trump has been spending taxpayer dollars lavishly on himself and his family, he submitted a budget proposal last week so lean and mean, one could characterize it as inhumane. And although We the People are being told not to worry yet because this budget proposal will be challenged in Congress, it does show what the Trump administration thinks of poor and elderly Americans. And by our measure, it ain't  much. Allow us to explain.
Burning through as much as $3 million large per weekend trip to chill at Mar A Largo is a shameless waste of taxpayer's money, while his budget director, Mick Mulvaney, proposes deep cuts to programs the poorest of the poor have come to rely on for their very survival. Mr. Mulvaney says his findings have concluded that after school programs are a waste of money as they do little to achieve better grades. This is unfortunate, because a billionaire president wouldn't have a clue what an after school program does for and means to kids who come home to empty refrigerators.

Donald Trump has assembled some of the richest people in the world to oversee the health and welfare of a struggling America. An America they do not know. And this, too, is unfortunate because we're certain not one of them knows what it must feel like to wait everyday for the Meals on Wheels delivery person. A billionaire couldn't possibly understand the meal delivery person is also checking to make sure that lonely senior is warm enough, feeling alright and has a friendly face to talk to every once in awhile.

The cost to cater to Donald Trump's every desire is taking a financial toll on the city of New York, as it's shelling out millions to protect Trump Tower since We the People's house isn't good enough for his family. And when we consider how expensive it is to provide security for Donald Trump's children to travel the world as they conduct their private business, it makes one pause for just a minute to understand what's really going on. Sure, we're being told Donald Trump isn't accepting a salary to be president, but when you examine how he's running up the tab to cover the perks, you can bet, We the People are being robbed.
Bottom line: We the People can't afford to keep Donald Trump in the lifestyle he's accustomed to living. While many small businesses are barely able to make payroll and their employees are barely able to make ends meet, watching Donald Trump fly down to Mar A Largo so frivolously on the taxpayer's dime is a behavior  that won't be tolerated much longer. Podcast included.
