Issues Under Fire: To Believe or Not To Believe, That is the Question
Since many in NYC and the northeast will spend the day snowbound with kids they'd rather have spending the day in school, we thought we'd take this opportunity to remind our friends that Issues Under Fire will return on 03.20.2017. And although what the new format will look like and programming schedule is still being debated, rest assured our alternative voice and views are on the way. That said, let's get to what we're really here to share with you today.
As most Americans, we too have been paying close attention to the mad, crazy lies being told by administration officials, as they scam the public into believing no one is to be believed but the administration. The list of government institutions "We The People" are being told not to believe has grown so large, the administration will soon be the only institution not on that list. If we are to believe the administration, the media can't be trusted, the courts are biased, the intelligence community is out to get them, the labor statistics are false and now the Congressional Budget Office's review and assessment of anything is worthless. But the scary part is, these lies are being told by the best liars on America's political stage. They don't come any better.
People like White House spokesperson Sean Spicer and White House Counselor Kellyanne Conway are masters of the art of deception, deflection and misdirection. They use words like weapons against their targeted audience. The simpleminded and poorly educated (the GOP's targeted audience) have little if any defense against liars this well skilled at twisting phrases, parsing statements and misleading the gullible. Never have we witnessed deceivers at this level of professionalism. They lie from the bottom of their hearts, through their teeth and over their lips without batting an eye.

These people are so good at lying, one could suspect they've had some sort of special kind of deception training. Liars like Conway and Spicer could probably pass a lie detector test while under oath without so much as moving the needle. We've seen reporters do their level best to squeeze the truth out of these scam artists with zero results, save for their own frustration. These people can't be broken by conventional Q&A interviews and press events. Conway and Spicer need the truth beaten out of them. And while we've interviewed many people who would love the opportunity to do just that, the best way is to remain patient and allow the administration to collapse under the weight of all its tall tales. This can't possibly take much longer.
Bottom line: While this is an extremely dangerous situation, there is hope because no administration can tell this many bald-faced lies without it catching up with them sooner or later. Remember what Abraham Lincoln said - "You can fool all the people some of the time and some of the people all the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time". In other words, The Trump base will begin to shrink and when it does, it'll happen fast. But until then, we would suggest believing in no one but yourselves. Podcast below.
