Will Trump's Bait and Switch Scam Deliver Fake-Care
As the nation awaits the outcome of the House of Representives' vote on a Bill to replace "Obama-Care", we're prepared to remind our friends that no matter what the GOP is able to agree upon, it won't even come close to what the Affordable Care Act currently provides. This is why neither Donald Trump nor Paul Ryan will call their plan Trump or Ryan Care. However, after reviewing the details hidden behind all the doublespeak and talking points, we found the perfect descriptor for what the GOP is now selling. Fake-Care. And as usual, we're happy to explain.
During the campaign, Donald Trump promised quality affordable healthcare for every American, bar none! But in doing so, Trump simply conned the most gullible Americans into believing his fabulous, sensational, super great plan would provide them with better benefits and more choices due to an explosion of new competitors coming into the market place. And this would happen because Donald Trump is such a tough negotiator. Of course, none of that was even remotely true. That was just the bait. This current Bill is the switch.
Like seasoned con artists, the administration and GOP scammers are delivering the switch with a tremendous sense of urgency. We must get this done quickly, because there's no other way and there's no plan B. It's now or never, they keep saying. Don't worry about any predictable downsides, if any, they'll be addressed at a later time. We wanted to get more details on the "very predictable" downsides, but unfortunately, as a rule, con artists rarely provide many details. Still, one needn't be an expert at reading between the lines not to realize they've been misled.
Bottom line: For the moment, forget about the FBI's Trump-Russia connection investigation. While waiting for the other shoe to drop in that looming scandal, we need you to pay close attention to how this scam is being perpetrated. If Americans allow the Trump administration to get away with this classic bait and switch scheme, you can bet your bottom dollar, they'll be a lot more coming.
