While Mismanaging U.S. Foreign Policy Around the Globe, Trump Finds Time to Fire FBI Director
We were preparing to tell you about Donald Trump's planned military build up in Afghanistan. Yeah, didn't you know Trump's trusted generals are requesting 3-5 thousand more troops to fight ISIS, Al Qaeda and the Taliban all at the same time? Citing the usual cover story of needing to recruit, train and equip more Afghans to fight local terrorists (whoever they are), the case is being made to go "all in" again. How long it will take and how much it will cost doesn't seem to be very important anymore. Crazy, don't you think?
We were prepared to tell you about Russia, Iran and Turkey striking an agreement in Astanan, Kazakhstan to shut the U.S. and its allies out of Syrian air space. Setting up their own "No Fly Zones", aka de-escalation zones, to protect non-combatants and control the skies, the U.S. has been formally warned not to conducts air operations of any kind in specific areas. So far, the U.S.' response has been muted. Unbelievable, don't you think?
We were preparing to tell you that South Korea just elected a Liberal president with anti-U.S. sentiments. Newly elected Moon Jae-in has every intention of demanding the U.S. remove the recently installed THAAD missile defense system and respect South Korea's right to conduct its own foreign policy when dealing with the North. Considering the Trump administration is counting heavily on South Korea's cooperation to pressure Kim Jong-un, this new development could drastically impact U.S. efforts to impose its will on the region. This is news, wouldn't you say?
Unfortunately, the President of the United States just fired the Director of the FBI, setting off a firestorm of conjecture and speculation. A narrative that a cover up is occurring right before our eyes has been set ablaze. Was Mr. Comey getting too close? Was Donald Trump getting nervous? Was the White House losing control of the story? Was Mr. Comey fired to slow down the investigation until the perfect sycophant can be found to fill that sensitive vacancy. These are all legitimate questions the people want answers to and they won't stop asking until they get them.
Bottom line: If Donald Trump thought dropping this bombshell would distract the world from the mounting calamities his administration is mismanaging, he is sadly mistaken. In our view, firing the FBI Director appears to be the act of someone with something to hide. It'll be viewed as an act of a guilty conscience. Firing of the FBI Director won't save Donald Trump's ass from the flames, they'll only grow hotter until his administration is fully engulfed. Just wait, you'll see. Podcast below.
