Global Jihad and the Spread of Madness
Faced with a growing army of religious fanatics, maniacs, sadists and psychopaths, global jihad is spreading around the world faster than governments can respond. Calling on Muslims to grab a rock, pick up a knife or use a car to kill infidels in the name of Islam, impressionable psychotics are answering that call without reservation or hesitation. Make no mistake about it, these are some of the sickest people on the planet. And to view them as anything but extremely dangerous lunatics is to misunderstand what may really be motivating them. If you got a minute, we'll try to explain.
When a young man in the 21st century decides to join a group with a reputation like ISIS, one has to wonder, what was the draw? An organization so vile, vicious and twisted that it's been denounced and rejected by al-Qaeda (no choirboys themselves), could only appeal to the most depraved of minds. No normal person, no matter how marginalized, disaffected or disenfranchised, connects with a group that kills so savagely and indiscriminately. No normal person could be convinced to take the life of strangers who've done them no harm. Hence, no normal person would be susceptible to the ISIS narrative.
However, a psychopath with sadistic tendencies would embrace the "opportunities" ISIS is offering. Think of it - an angry, directionless and in many cases, a family disappointment, finds an ideology that'll let them vent their frustrations against the "normal". Suddenly, they're meeting people who'll reward their psychosis, not reject them for it. They're now with people of like minds, who'll feed off each other's lunacy. Whether these mentally maladjusted recruits realized they're suffering from some form of mental illness (and they rarely do) may never be known, but we do know, someone they know has to know.
To date, hundreds of billions have been spent on security and surveillance to combat this global threat and the world is no safer than when the so-called war on terror started. Reportedly, the UK is keeping a close eye on as many a 3000 individuals, while regularly monitoring 20,000 others. Scattered about the country with come and go privileges, any one of these people could wake up one morning, grab a meat cleaver, board a bus or train and start hacking away. So the question to ask is, what can we do to mitigate the madness? Hint: Hold for Observation. And long term, if necessary.
Draconian perhaps, but in radical times, one must consider radical options. If someone is known to be fraternizing with extremist elements, nurturing disturbing and intolerant attitudes, one might contemplate detaining that person (temporarily) for a mental health evaluation. It also might be wise to have these people to check in periodically for updates. Their families would be required to contact mental health officials if or when that relative starts showing signs of radicalization. Since we all agree, any person who would strap a bomb to their body, walk into concert hall full of happy teens and blow themselves to bits would have to be out of their natural mind, friends and families should feel no guilt when getting that friend or loved one the help they desperately need.
Bottom line: Admittedly, the idea of detaining people before they've committed a crime sounds desperate and leaves a lot of room for abuse. But thus far, everything else has been tried and the problem still exists. Twisted minds are being unleashed upon the world at an unprecedented rate. Their goal is to kill as many non-belivers as they can. They claim to believe these crimes against humanity have been sanctioned by their God. We're only advocating that these social oddities be held in confinement until they prove that claim or prove their sanity. No matter how long it takes. Podcast below.
