Issues Under Fire: "45" To the World: Diplomacy is a Waste of Time
With many international observers sitting on pins and needles wondering if a nuclear exchange is imminent on the Korean Peninsula, Donald Trump, aka "45", placed the world on notice. As far as he's concerned, diplomacy is no longer an option. Continuing to mock Kim Jong-un by again referring to him as "Little Rocket Man", he undercut U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson's efforts to maintain direct dialog with Pyongyang, by tweeting, "Tillerson is wasting his time." Which leaves sane minds asking two fundamental questions. WTF is Donald Trump doing? And why?
Being of sound mind, it's difficult to delve into the depths of madness to comprehend the mental processes of mad men, so one can only speculate when advancing the theory that Donald Trump may be looking for any excuse to trigger a military option against the Kim regime. Despite the cost of hundreds of thousands of taxpayer dollars to send Rex Tillerson to China for a diplomatic chat to "calm things down" over the North Korean denuclearization dispute, "45" appears to be insistent upon using inflammatory and provocative tweets to keep tensions soaring.
Tillerson's trip to Beijing was scheduled to have talks with China's President Xi Jinping and foreign minister Wang Yi to discuss North Korea and a host of other issues. During a news conference, Tillerson was asked if he thought North Korea was interested in talking before completing their nuclear program. His response: "We are probing, so stay tuned". "We ask, 'Would you like to talk?' We have lines of communications to Pyongyang. We're not in a dark situation or a blackout. We have a couple of direct channels to Pyongyang. We can talk to them. We do talk to them. Directly, through our own channels." If this is true, perhaps that's why we haven't got a mushroom cloud over Seoul, yet.
Unfortunately, members of "45's" administration will say one thing one day and "45" will tweet something entirely different the next. In fact, Trump does so so often, it begs one to wonder why any world leader would take time out of a busy schedule to meet with a U.S. delegation to discuss anything, when nothing they say, do or promise will hold true for more than 24 hours. And that being the case, one should wonder why anyone would take a job in Trump's administration. Cabinet members must know by now they're becoming as much of a laughingstock as their boss. After Rex Tillerson met with his Chinese counterparts, Wang Yi and then read "45's" tweet, he had to wonder what his job title really means. This can't be what he signed on for. One can only wonder when Tillerson will resign.
Bottom line: Apparently, race relations at an all time low, disaster relief efforts draining resources at an unprecedented level and looming healthcare crises for millions of Americans on the horizon isn't enough complications to deal with. "45" is busy blatantly provoking a war on the Korean Peninsular. And they call Kim Jong-un a mad man. Podcast below.
