Issues Under Fire: End of Net Neutrality Could be End of Independent Media & Us Too
After reviewing the GOP's proposed 2018 budget, tax reforms and cuts, its healthcare quagmire and the latest assault on U.S. consumer protections, it became clear, the Big Rich is in the process of creating a massive underclass. And, if the Big Rich finally kills Obama era Net Neutrality regulations, that massive underclass could be permanent. Without Net Neutrality providing a level playing field for individuals and small businesses to participate and compete in the global marketplace and public square, only the Big Rich will be able to be seen, heard and promote their ideas. By any measure, this is bad public policy and we need your help to fight it.
If Net Neutrality regulations are reversed by the Big Rich, the mainstream will eventually be the only stream. When smaller alternative and independent media outlets such as ourselves are able to be controlled by the likes of Verizon and AT&T deciding which sites can be slowed down to a crawl in favor of its own media offerings, alternative, and independent voices will have been effectively shut up. In our view, this is the most dangerous threat to the global community's ability to exchange ideas and information, as well as marketing products and services across borders in the 21st century. And for us, this could not come at a worse time.
RetroVision Media has decided to rebrand and produce Issues Under Fire as a weekly 30-60 minute video news and informational program. Utilizing the Internet as the primary platform to deliver our unvarnished news and information with unique angles and alternative perspectives, the goal is to step up our game in covering the issues and telling the stories of those most often forgotten or simply ignored by the mainstream media's corporate-driven 24/7 news cycle. We finally realized we could and must do more to stem the tide of global social injustice and income inequality.
We want to open your eyes (in our own special way) as to who and what the Big Rich really is. We want to explain how the Big Rich has been stealing your collective futures so imperceptibly over the last few decades, you've been literally robbed blind while your eyes were wide open. We want to help you understand once and for all, the bipartisan collusion that's been going on behind your backs that'll help explain why most Americans are struggling (and always will) to obtain life's basics, like healthcare, education, a living wage and affordable housing. And while the mainstream media may touch upon these issues from time to time, it'll never tell you what you can do about it.
Thus, you can believe us when we say, the last thing the Big Rich's corporate media wants, is alternative or independent voices telling you anything like what we're proposing to do. In fact, alternative and independent voices such as ours pose a major threat to the Big Rich's insatiable thirst to control every valuable resource on the planet (human resources especially) in its quest to own the world. And now that the world's been successfully divided by race, religion, gender identification and ethnicity, conquering humanity as a whole will be easier than taking candy from a baby. They must be challenged. And that's going to require your help because unfortunately, this project needs support. Your support.
Bottom line: In all honesty, it was a tremendous financial strain to continue producing Issues Under Fire in its current format, let alone the added expense of doing business in a post Net Neutrality environment. Without your support, moving forward could prove to be an insurmountable challenge to taking what we do to the next level. If independent media voices such as ours are silenced, there'll be few, if any alternative outlets left to counter the megaphones of watered-down infotainment being marketed as news you can use. So, if you can help, we ask you to contribute to the cause by making a donation of whatever and whenever you can. Podcast below.
