Issues Under Fire: Palestinian Rage, Congressional Sex Fiends, & Black Lives Matter in So. Carolina
To be honest, as we near our annual Winter Break, some of us tend to abbreviate efforts in anticipation of the upcoming holidays and the New Year. That said, today's hot copy is a little on the light side. However, today's podcast is as engaging, informative and entertaining as we always are. So, take a seat, kick back, and give a listen to our unique take on the hottest issues affecting your life and future. If you enjoy it, share it. If you don't, mum's the word.
Here's what's included:
Firstly, the U.S. formally recognized Jerusalem as Israel's capital, a move being touted as an effort to bring peace to the Middle East. But, those efforts are not exactly going according to plan. The streets of Gaza and the West Bank have been filling up with protesters, demonstrating anger and frustration over what they feel was clearly a move to undermine and derail the peace process. This three days of rage could grow into more violent and sustained outbursts. We'll just have to wait and see.
Secondly, the U.S. Congress is struggling so hard to oust sex fiends from its ranks, it can't find time to address the controversial issue of Donald Trump recognizing Jerusalem. Considering the complexities, sensitivities, and volatility of the situation, many are asking why there's been virtually no debate, let along push-back against an issue that's generating global condemnation. Some say Congress' collective silence leaves it open to speculation, that special interest is playing a role behind the scenes. Troubling to say the least.
Lastly, apparently, Black Lives do Matter. Well at least in South Carolina. A While police officer was tried, convicted and sentenced to 20 years in prison for shooting an unarmed Black man in the back. Sure, the evidence had to be overwhelming, indefensible and indisputable to make that happen, but that's never stopped cops from being held accountable in the past for similar actions in the past. Only history will tell if this a watershed moment or just a fluke never to be repeated again.
Bottom line: We may be short on copy today, but we've got three hot stories you don't want to miss or enjoy. So, what's stopping you? As always, the Podcast is just a click away.
