Issues Under Fire: Peace on the Korean Peninsula?
This story is so huge, I've got to investigate the details thoroughly before even attempting to render an analysis of the announcement. The big question that remains to be answered is how the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula will occur because as per usual, the devil remains buried in the details. Since I suspect the outcome of this historic and positive event for the Korean people will not necessarily bode well for U.S. long-term interest in the region, the strength and longevity of this Kumbaya moment also remain a big question.
If my intuition is correct, China will be the biggest winner in the final outcome, because a united Korea could finally remove the U.S. military's regional presence as part of the equation. My visceral reaction tells me this deal was the brainchild of Xi Jinping. Kim makes peace with Moon and Beijing's economic and military might will provide protection from U.S. aggression. If so, brilliant! However, this is pure speculation. I need more time to review and digest what the world has just witnessed.
Unfortunately, I'm scheduled for a long overdue vacation from the madness of your world so my take on this most extraordinary development will be delayed until I'm scheduled to return on 05.07.2018. Still, I'm amazed at what can be accomplished when Western powers are isolated from the process. Whatever Donald Trump has to say concerning the relationship between North and South going forward is irrelevant, and will remain so.
Imagine, no more Rocket Man. No more Fire and Fury. No more sanctions. No more need for the U.S. to conduct provocative military exercises. Sound minds will consider this breakthrough a good thing for all parties concerned!

BTW, No Podcast and No Bottom line Today. Just a Short and Sweet, C-Ya Next Week.
