Issues Under Fire: Stupidity Has Reached the Highest Levels of Government

When the U.S. Senate intelligence committee released its finding indicating Russia (Vladimir Putin) interfered in America's 2016 presidential elections, I for one wasn't the least bit surprised. If I was Vladimir Putin, I would've done the same thing. Let's face it, Vladimir Putin is a really smart guy. Think of it, from a tactical standpoint, it made perfect sense to do whatever he could to tip the election in the direction of Donald Trump, because Donald Trump is not a smart guy. To the contrary, by any reasonable person's measure, the President of the United States is a Dumb Ass. And by now, everybody knows it. When Russian intelligence confirmed Trump was a fool, Putin knew, if he could manage to get Trump elected it wouldn't be long before other world leaders would be using him as a tool. And, if you allow me a minute, I think I can make a prima facie case to support this theory. I'll start with Vlad the Puppetmaster.

If only ten percent of the dossier developed by former British intelligence operative Richard Steele is to be believed, Donald Trump must've stupidly allowed himself to be compromised. And if so, Vladimir Putin has the goods on him. Whatever happened during Trump's visit to Russia to put on his Miss Universe contest in Moscow in 2013, it was likely captured on video and audio, because from the minute he took the oath of office, Vladimir Putin has had Donald Trump acting like Putin's jailhouse bitch. No matter what Putin does or says, Donald won't stand up to him or call him out on it. When U.S. intelligence officials try to present evidence that the Russian leader means to undermine U.S. interest at every turn, Trump refuses to accept their findings. When proof beyond a reasonable doubt is staring Trump in the face, he simply looks the other way. No matter how you cut it, Putin has this idiot just where he wants him. In the White House. Next up, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Netanyahu, like Putin, is a really smart guy. From the word go, he knew he had a sucker on the hook and in no time at all, he had reeled his sucker in. Generally speaking, stupid people are suckers for flattery. The only thing one has to do to manipulate a stupid person is to tell them how smart they are. Netanyahu was smart enough to play up to Donald Trump's ego. The Israeli Prime Minister wasted no time ingratiating himself with Trump by telling him he was a great man. That said, it wasn't long before Donald Trump had convinced himself that, if anybody could bring peace to the Middle East, it would be he. And the Israeli Prime Minister was smart enough to feed that delusion. With a few suggestions like moving the U.S. embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem and pulling out of the Iran nuclear deal, Donald Trump would be hailed as the greatest deal maker of all time. And besides, what could possibly go wrong? Next up, Kim Jong-un

G. Gordon Liddy once said of a political adversary, "If brains were dynamite, he couldn't blow his nose". That statement is more than fitting to describe Donald Trump because as of late, Kim Jong-un has been playing the U.S. President like a Stradivarius. The North Korean leader traded insults with Donald Trump just long enough to goad him into thinking he'd won the battle of words. Then suddenly, Kim shifted gears to a more conciliatory tone, a more cooperative point of view and willing to engage in more diplomatic conversation. To prove his sincerity, the North and South joined as one for the PyeongChang Olympic Games, and Kim signed a treaty ending the war between the North and South. Kim announced there'd be no more missile launches or nuclear testing, thus luring President Dumb-Ass to the bargaining table believing his "Maximum Pressure" was the reason for North Korea's acquiescence. Kim had Trump making space on a mantle at Mar-a-Lago for his Nobel Peace Prize when he dropped the bomb. We're not giving up our nukes and BTW, nix the provocative military exercises or there will be no negotiations. And last but hardly least, Trump's own administration.

Unfortunately, it's not just other world leaders who've come to understand Donald Trump is stupid. Buzzfeed.com reported Trump's former National Security Advisor reportedly called him an idiot and a dope at a private dinner. Trump's former Secretary of State Rex Tillerson reportedly called him a F**king Moron. And most recently, Trump's current Chief of Staff John Kelly reportedly referred to his boss as an idiot as well. And perhaps the only reason Kelly still has his job is that he's refused to admit doing so. Chief of Staff John Kelly must be a smart man too, just not smart enough to have turned down that job. If the people closest to Donald Trump question his intellect or the lack thereof, who am I to question their judgment? I'm not stupid, I'm convinced.

Recently, a poll was taken of George W. Bush that reflected a majority of Americans now have a favorable opinion of him as well as his performance as President of the United States. And this, BTW, was a man known for not being particularly bright. By his own admission during a commencement speech at Yale (his alma mater), he was a solid C student. And in all likelihood, W. wouldn't have scored that high a GPA were it not for his father being a former graduate and major financial benefactor to that esteemed university. After all, this is the guy who allowed himself to be manipulated into wasting more than two trillion dollars, invading Iraq. That idiocy cost 4,400 U.S. lives and tens of thousands of U.S. troops returned F**ked up. We may never know the full extent of the Iraqi casualties. And by all accounts, it was all a lie.

Bottom line: It's no wonder Donald Trump has spent his presidency doing all he can to undo his predecessor's accomplishments and legacy. Since he's entered the White House, Trump has stupidly repealed as much of the Affordable Care Act as he possibly could, but to date, he's yet to replace it with anything. He stupidly pulled out of the Paris Climate Accord calling climate change a Chinese hoax, but to date, he's yet to provide an alternative. He stupidly pulled out of the Trans-Pacific Partnership agreement, only to find himself in a trade war with China that he can't win. But worst of all, as mentioned above, President Dumb-Ass reneged on the Iran nuclear agreement, without having a plan B. If he thinks he's smarter than Barack Obama, Donald Trump is stupider than the entire world knows he is. Podcast below.
