Issues Under Fire: N. Korea, S. Korea, China & Russia Are Managing Trump Brilliantly

If you're as tired of U.S. race-related issues as I, you can relax. I'm back to what I do best and enjoy most. Geopolitical analysis. Over the last few days, I've gathered and reviewed enough data to support a theory concerning the upcoming meeting between Kim Jong-un and Donald Trump in Singapore. And I'm now prepared to share my findings. If Donald Trump is as dumb as I think he is, I'm 100% certain he'll be suckered into a strategy of Rope-A-Dope, à la the Ali-Forman Rumble in the Jungle boxing match in 1974. Kim in the North, Moon, in the South, Xi in Beijing and Putin in Moscow are in cahoots to make Trump think he's in the driver's seat. These regional neighbors all share a border and the last thing they want is the United States meddling in the region any more than it already is. If you've got a moment, I can help you understand what's really going on. Let's start with China.

Those who've been paying attention know, Kim Jong-un has been in regular contact with President Xi of China. And while I must confess I have no direct knowledge of those very private conversations, it doesn't take a genius to recognize Xi Jinping's quiet influence being inserted into the process. It's no secret China has issues with the United States over the South China Sea, trade disputes and the U.S'. deployment of its intrusive THAD missile defense system in So. Korea. That system's radar capability can penetrate far beyond the border of North Korea, giving the U.S. eyes and ears into what China is doing. That has been a major concern for Beijing from the moment So. Korea okayed its installation. In fact, just this week the United States sent warships into waters China has claimed as its territory to test China's resolve. Beijing considered this action to be a provocation and responded with threats of retaliation. The U.S. took those threats seriously and backed down. Next, Russia.

Just yesterday, Kim Jong-un met with Russia's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sergey Lavrov in Pyongyang. Apparently, Russia is making an effort to establish a seat at the table as well. Russia, like China, has its own reasons to influence the upcoming talks between North Korea and the United States. While Russia has stated a denuclearized Korean Peninsula would benefit all parties concerned, Moscow has no reason to feel threatened by a nuclear-armed North Korea. Russia's goal is to destabilize and undermined the United States, whenever and where it can. That's why Russian intelligence worked so hard to place an idiot in the Oval Office. And as I've noted in previous post and podcast, those efforts are paying big dividends. The Idiot-in-Chief is at war with his own Justice Department, FBI, and the United States' free press. Donald Trump has just triggered trade wars with his neighbors both north and south of the U.S. border, as well as with America's allies in Europe. All are promising retaliation. If the Singapore talks fail as I predict they will, the United States will look like the world's biggest losers. And nothing could please Moscow more. Next and most importantly, North and South Korea.

President Moon Jae-in and Supreme Commander Kim Jong-un have been playing Donald Trump for a sucker from the word go. Moon and Kim are equally fed up with the Trump administration's foolish antics and overbearing bravado. Moon wants peace and security for the South and Kim wants respect and prosperity for the North. And the two Koreas have been working together to make that happen. The only entity standing in the way is the United States. The Koreas joined hand in hand to present the two nations as one at the 2018 PyeongChang Olympic Games. They signed a peace treaty officially ending the war between the two nations since 1953. Kim Jong-un promised to end nuclear and long-range missile testing, as well as releasing three U.S. citizens as an act of good faith. All the while, Moon is the consummate diplomate in convincing Donald Trump, that he should get all the credit for bringing a peaceful resolution to the decades-long tension on the Korean Peninsula.

When Donald Trump concluded he could receive a Nobel Peace Prize and would be forever recognized for accomplishing something no other U.S. was able to, North and South Korea had the Idiot-in-Chief eating right out of their hands. But, they weren't done just yet. Moon and Kim couldn't let it look too easy. Kim cleverly fired off a few nasty insults and belligerent threats against the Trump team to give the impression that North Korea might walk away from the talks. Again, Trump took the bait. He walked first. That move gave Kim and company the opportunity to reel their sucker back to the table by letting Trump believe he was still in control. Nothing could be further from the truth. These were simply stalling tactics on the part of regional neighbors and partners, trying to de-escalate the conflict. The longer they can keep Donald Trump talking, the longer they can prevent a rash preemptive strike by an erratic and unpredictable moron. If you want to know what cinched it for me, read on, I'm almost done.

Three days ago, I came across an article in the NY Times entitled "North Korea Disarmament Could Take 15 Years, Expert Warns." And according to Stanford professor and former director of the Los Alamos weapons laboratory, Siegfried S. Hecker, a phased denuclearization of North Korea could take far longer than the rapid disarmament the United States is demanding. After completing the article and painstakingly examining an 11 page PDF document Hecker and his colleagues prepared and made public for all the world to see before the Singapore Summit, I was convinced, the Trump team was clueless concerning the complicated details to be considered before entering these talks. I was shocked to realize how ill-prepared the United States was to discuss anything related to denuclearization. And even more disturbing, was the fact that Cable News outlets were just as clueless, because it's clear the so-called media professionals haven't done their homework either.

Bottom line: North Korea, South Korea, China, and Russia have correctly calculated Donald Trump will not be reelected. Therefore, their strategy is to placate until Trump vacates. In little more than two years, the world will happily welcome a new and hopefully more reasonable and rational U.S. leader to engage with. The restoration of sanity in the Oval Office will restore much-needed confidence and certainty that's been sorely lacking during these dark times the Trump administration brought upon the international community. Keep your finger crossed, it won't be much longer. Podcast below.
